>Jaki on the same list with a bunch of literal whos

Attached: 16912.png (358x272, 124K)

>Ringo Starr
>Zach Hill
>literal who's

>all white

>Keith Moon
>Bill Bruford
>literal whos

Disagree with Ringo. Although Ringo is extremely popular and I don’t have a problem with him, he wasn’t even the best drummer in the Beatles.

I don’t see me in there?

zach here

this list is accurate

>Ringo Starr
>good drummer
Mate he's not even in top 5 Liverpudlian drummers

5. Gavin Harrison
4, Jon Theodore
3, Greg Fox
2. Terry Bozio
1. Bill Bruford

Yeah, white people are better at music generally.

Okay sorry ill add Questlove
Am i a good boy now?? Please tell me im a good boy

>includes Ringo
>doesn't include Taylor Hawkins or Travis Barker

y'all are fags if you seriously don't think Danny carrey is one of the best

>no greg saunier mentioned in the thread
YIKES

Attached: Greg_Saunier.jpg (4000x2667, 3.04M)

The dude from Ride
The dude from Cloud Nothing

youtube.com/watch?v=HmdDkxV0208

Where the FUCK is Damon Che on any of these lists you freaks

>jimmy chamberlain

this.

Keith Moon is a literal Who

>ctrl+f
>no Britt Walford

guys...

No, but you could add Elvin Jones or Blakey
>Restricting a best drummer list to only rock drummers
How am I supposed to take this seriously?

He obviously hasn't gotten much talk because Guerilla Toss have only recently become relevant but I really like their drummer Peter Negroponte. Listen to their live in Nashville album.

What if I told you I have a super secret demo that Pete played drums on?

im stealing this for the next Damon Che thread

based

all Zappa's drummers

>The dude from Cloud Nothing
based picks

Terry Bozzio
Bill Bruford
Steve Gadd
Stewart Copeland
Big Paul Ferguson

What do you want for it user?

Paul's drumming is so stiff and calculated. You can rant about Ringo's technical ability all day long but no one can deny that he had a distinct and unmistakable style that shone through. A lot of drummers can play completely whacked out time signatures and impossible solos, but sound almost indistinguishable from any of their contemporaries.

This
Where’s the love for jazz? Most drummers in jazz are way better than most rock drummers from a technical perspective anyway

>drum machine isn't on this list
k

elvin jones
brian chippendale
the boredoms

for all that though the drummer for an 00s iowa band called slut river was probably the best drummer i ever saw in my life.

roland was an asshole. fucked albini's girlfriend on tour apparently

>Stella Mozgowa
>Dominic Howard
>Abe Cunningham
>Stuart Copeland
>Elvin Jones

>all rock drummers

who.
I was just talking about machines that reproduce sounds that would normally be created by humans.

Lol, reminds me of a George Harrison joke

>Merv Griffin: Is Ringo the best drummer in the world?
>George Harrison: Ringo isn't even the best drummer in the Beatles

Attached: 1551575370031.png (514x676, 465K)

>no Damon Che
>No Balazs Pandi
Shit thread

Cool but where is tatsuya yoshida

i was able to recognize everyone on that list except Jaki

touring with him sounds like a nightmare. unreliable, weak kick, constant silent treatment...

Solid list.

Nonsense.

Heh

Carmine Appice
Bobby Rock
Mikkey Dee
Frankie Banali
Pat Torpey

Posting an obscure pick for my favorite drumming performance for fun:
youtube.com/watch?v=s7HXZy8fuUE

On the top of my mind:
1 Elvin Jones
2 Tony Williams
3 Danny Carey
4 Tatsuya Yoshida
5 Christian Vander

How about all the white police officers beating black men for no reason? I thought white people liked that.

>ctrl+f
>search "brian chippendale"
>1 of 1 match
yall

based police officers

yeah, he sounds distinguishable, which helps distinguish that he wasn't the best drummer in the beatles

>ctrl+f Charles Hayward
>0 results
It's Charles Hayward

good troll, including Ringo Starr

ITT: people who have no idea about drumming whatsover just spout out whichever drummer they somehow know from shit bands. fuck all of you god damn niggers.

Bill Bruford
Buddy Rich
Neil Peart
Terry Bozzio
Elvin Jones

>posts exactly the same top and calls everyone else idiots
wow you're so enlightened
fuck off

For me it's yussef dayes
youtu.be/NwVtIPeYIeQ

For me it's
Jaki Liebezeit (Can)
Maureen Tucker (Velvet Underground)
Charlie Watts (Rolling Stones)
Yoshimi Yokota (Boredoms)
Klaus Dinger (Neu)

1. Benny Greb (incredible groove and creativity)
2. Jojo Mayer (best drummer to do electronic)
3. Gavin Harrison (organic feel and unique approach)
4. Vinnie Colaiuta (mature, excellent drummer)
5. Thomas Pridgen (choplord)

there's a decent list

Such inconsistent rolls and lead-hand overemphasis in his fills tho.

he has the haircut of a religious man
he just needs the right clothes

>That shirt
OH NO NONONO

Bill Ward
Nicko McBrain
Neil Peart
Danny Carey

Zach is more talented at visual art and sampling

I thought Andy was the one handling the production. So what does Andy do exactly?

I dunno anything about drumming but I like watching Jim White play
youtube.com/watch?v=z1Lh06y6Z1Q

Tony Allen
Bill Kreutzmann
Jaki Liebezeit
John Weathers
Greg Saunier

>No one mentions the kid from Slint

Gavin Harrison
Craig Blundell
Gavin Harrison
Craig Blundell
Gavin Harrison

See Excellent drummer though, I agree

I saw Gavin Harrison live twice with King Crimson, guy is out of this world

actually let me swap one Gavin Harrison for Matt Garstka, Matt is fucking sick

>zach hill is good

i want this meme to end. the dude has no style or rhythm. he plays fast. that’s literally it.

youtube.com/watch?v=vzAS_pddqYk
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

i've always liked Gabe Serbian. youtube.com/watch?v=gxloBTOTsBA
i feel like he has a unique style in his sound, and he does an amazing job accentuating the music he plays along with.

He's one of those guys who acts like Krautrock was some majorly influential and widespread phenomenon, and not something between a handful of weirdos.

So you dont mention Ginger Rodgers.

Shame on you. None of them could swing a sack of shit compared to him.

Watch this documentary you wont regret it.
youtube.com/watch?v=josXy65dQI8

FML Ginger Baker....Point still stands. Watch every drummer you love tell you he was the best.

It definetely was influential you fag: post-punk, post-rock and industrial wouldn't exist without Krautrock.

No shit it was influential, but not as a cultural force. You had a handful of weirdos and a handful of people who wanted to be like the anti-society weirdos. That's it. The internet has massively overinflated just how well known most groups were.

Lars Ulrich

In terms of pure technical skill and chops, Buddy Rich is the undisputed best drummer that ever lived. He also had some nice musical chops too and could solo decently.

>Top 5 drummers from bands I like because I have no reference for other great drummers because these are the only ones I know

Thats more like it

the sad thing is you're probably not trolling when you say it wasn't influential as a cultural force. read some history you fucking zoomer

Attached: 1576235.jpg (431x395, 18K)

Idk if this is a pun bc Keith Moon was literally in the Who

its really not. idiosyncrasy > technicality

Andy handles a lot of the production but zach is involved as well. Especially on something like NotM where all th Björk samples were mapped onto his drums.

For me, it's Phil Collins
