nope
I just have a weird ratimg system, had my account since august i think

but I didn't rate Fake Train?
Yeah The Shivering Man was a tad underwhelming, still enjoyable though
It's not like I have anything better to do with my money

Explain

I can't bring myself to give albums 1.5s or below. It takes a lot for me to dislike something, and if I have a hunch that I'll hate it completely and utterly, I won't listen to something, so I don't need to rate it. Why do people do this to themselves?

that 2 chainz album was weak af

I like your ratings. Although I don't think I could rec you anything you'd like or that you don't already know.

I'd like to know too.

I don't intentionally listen to bad music but If I hear some at a store, a concert, or a restaurant, I'll rate it accordingly.

>5 star everything
I don't get you people and I'm glad I don't because we can't relate

haven't posted in one of these threads in a while so here's a bunch of ratings.

gave the same score to Repetition
Spirit They're Gone is one of my favorite albums, glad you liked it
gave the same score to Down Colorful Hill, that Immunity album is really good.

why did you rate metal machine music 2.5?
i can understand a rating of 0 or 5 but anything inbetween just seems odd.

i have certain algorithms for finding new albums, and it's usually a time & place thing. most of my ratings are really sentimental too

its just an hour of noise, i don't really like it or dislike it. It does sound cool, but I will never sit through the whole thing again. It's average as far as noise goes.

Snobbed King Crimson for years because I didn't (and still don't, actually) like prog, gave them a try and god did I like them, so pretty basic chart.
Is Daniel Johnston any good? I can't get into the incredibly lo-fi sound and his voice, but I'm fascinated by his story and everything surrounding him.

I see you don't like imagine dragons lmao

things get relatively more polished around the time of the album titled 1990. i also recommend his live album from 2000 youtube.com/watch?v=z02-0S5W0Yg

I rated it a 2.5 too. It's just average. It's well made for what it is (noise/drone), and I don't hate listening to it, but it's not particularly interesting compositionally or texturally. Gets a half star for originality.

What up guys! Cataloging a bunch of shit right now so I did my ratings this way

Based
RiL could be a 5 if not for Overload

all of the lights is horrible, not sure if 2/10 but whatever.. its the only reason i dont give mbdtf a 10
red is a grower. so much emotion and anger, ez 5 star
why do you make yourself listen to imagine dragons if you don't like them? and you listened to all of their discography in one day?

I just discovered Fishmans. Love them.

How do I get more .5s-3.5s? I have quite a bit of 4.5s and 4s. I can’t seem to listen to something and really hate it and it makes me feel like a normie. I have just gotten back into music after a few years of not paying attention, but still

I really wish it was 1-10 instead of 5

Actually explore genres. If you find a genre you really enjoy, you'll want to dive into it and listen to stuff that isn't universally loved or pristinely/cohesively made; stuff that might have some fluff inbetween the good songs, or maybe stuff that has great moments but is mostly bad, or stuff that has great songwriting but bad production or something.
If all you listen to is universally praised stuff, yeah, you'll have trouble finding shit you don't like unless you're just retarded and hate music. I don't see how someone can listen to the top 100 albums on RYM and rate it anything lower than a 2.5 because it's pretty much objectively enjoyable.
That's what half stars are for nigga.

dumbest statement of the thread

No but I want 7.5s etc as well. Ten places aren’t enough, 20 is good

Agree on abbey road
Agree on immunity
Long season is good but not quite that good for me personally
Better off alone & all of the lights are amazing
Get outta here

RiL isn’t as good as SiT is for me but still great
I love I love it

Just use the tagging system and put down specific ratings in those. See

Not good enough for my autism

>Giving track ratings
Why?

>not paying for a RYM subscription to see all track ratings on all albums
Lel

They wasted money on premium and by god they're gonna fuckin use it.

lmao I am also a fantano drone

fuck yeah grosses wasser
ratings can be relative, on a scale. ideally, things cluster around 3 and/or 2.5. because most music is pleasant enough.
really glad someone else rates those 86-87 mbv records
ofc that talk talk record is great but lol come on going out of your way to do this to imagine dragons. it's so obviously not going to be your thing, like why bother?
>thank u next
bryter layter

What kind of joyless sack of shit doesn't at least vaguely enjoy Autobahn?

i do vaguely enjoy it. just less than stuff i have rated 2
maybe it just hasn't clicked yet

or you know, imagine dragons are objectively bad

Fair enough. If I found I Love It funny I would like it. I just don’t think it’s funny at all
That’s the way to do it man
Gr8 r8s m8

this isn't really my latest, since I tend to put stuff on the wishlist before I rate it, but w/e
Daniel Johnston is somewhat inconsistent, but his later albums aren't all that lo-fi at all

>ofc that talk talk record is great but lol come on going out of your way to do this to imagine dragons. it's so obviously not going to be your thing, like why bother?
i wouldn't normally do something like that but it was done in retaliation to this.
