What's an example of one?
What exactly is an industry plant?
when an industry takes you and plants you
prime examples right now can be Jumex or Billie Eilish
Someone who seems to appear out of nowhere with a massive fanbase out of thin air, and feels like someone a record label decided to make famous overnight. Billie Eilish is a good example, Blueface is another recent one.
any big act is plant in esence.
>16 years old
>signed to Interscope or Universal or Atlantic records
>very first single breaks the top 40
>check Discogs
>no history of raw demo tapes or DIY home recordings whatsoever
>very first recording ever is a big hit on a major label
>check album credits
>100 different people worked on the album
pretty much this
everything you don't like is an industry plant

When a label takes an artist and manufactures an image for them that will make them popular in the current market, then they pump money into making that person famous in hopes that they will take off and the label will make a profit off of them.
This is opposed to an artist getting signed to a label because their music is actually good, they struggled to gain popularity, and their image is genuine.
Hit the nail on the head. Doesn't matter if they're a male or female, gay or straight, black or white, etc.
If their career looks like this, they're a fucking plant.
how did billie eilish get in the industry?
What do you mean? She is nowhere near mainstream and Dead Magic was actually pretty good.
Funny because 90% of the artists people on Yea Forums rant and rave about being industry plants do not fit this bill at all
