The current sound and trend of techno is honestly so fucking vapid and uninteresting. So tired of these 30 second Instagram videos that """""techno""""" DJs keep putting up of generic build ups.
At this point even tech house is more enjoyable.
try listening 2 good techno instead of wallpaper techno u melonoid

why do you watch them? just to have something to get angry about?
Who does this? Is it actual known artists or just dudes who want to show off their gear that they don't do anything with? Would be surprised if actual techno producers were doing wanky shit like that.
its called self promotion and everyone does it, just this particular style of it makes "true heads" buttmad because they cant get over themselves
Anyone know where to find royalty free spoken word samples to make my productions just a bit spicier?
woud also like to know this. Guessing most producers just take without asking though.
Hello it is me, Devin
*sample of MLK speech + NY house beat*

can't, I forgot to pay my Transistor Radio Loicense :(
>sample of MLK speech
infuriating
yeah I don’t think producers clean their samples at all, unless they are fairly well known like Four Tet or something.
in most tunes the sample is going to be almost unrecognisable anyway, unless you’re doing filter house, or putting a whole vocal track over yer tune, which I think sound lame most of the time
you can find spoken word and various vocal on freesound.org, also be in the look out for old 12” with the vocal only, a fair bit of that in funk, disco etc.
you can sample movies as well, but only a word or twos, don’t play back a whole sentence or something, it’s corny as fuck
dubman
I've found some pretty interesting samples on old cassettes people donated to thrift stores. Letters to friends, ASL practice, fortune telling, seances etc.

Listening to Nordheim Transformed
He's been around for a bit but he was alright from what I remember.
But Monkstar comes back after a decade and is still the GOAT.

>tech house is more enjoyable.
a lot of producers djs that come from a tech house background are currently making the most interesting things in dance music atm IMHO, and it's been that way for a few years
this wave of wonky techno and tech house that's been growing for quite a few years now, it's like a melting pot of electro, techno, tech house and minimal techno
guys like seuil, evan baggs, binh, nicholas lutz, the ghost, gene on earth, bodin/jacob/martyne, spacetravel
it's like a more quirky offshoot from your traditional groovy, stripped back tech house flavours.
Post some oldskool drum n bass
