To be honest Art of Life is based but it's their most well known album for being an epic long song. Blue Blood is X's true kino. Vanishing Vision if you want to go full patrician.

JAPANESE MUSIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OH MY GIOD YES
GENERIC 80s METAL, GENERIC MATH ROCK AND REPETITIVE STATIC NOISE ALL SUDDENLY BECOME TRANSCENDENTAL GENIUS WHEN IT'S MADE BY PEOPLE FROM JAPAN
SUGOI!!!!!!!!!!!!!
try and list a single western artist that sounds like any of these five
>Mass of Fermenting Dregs
How good is that band compared to a western alternative/indie rock band?
haha
Imagine thinking this unironically
Similar to Melt-Banana: The Jesus Lizard, Big Black
Similar to Boris: Melvins, any sludge/drone band
Similar to Mass of Fermenting Dregs: The Wedding Present, Smashing Pumpkins
>has never listened to Acid Mothers Temple
MB sounds nothing like either of those bands, what are you on about?
Boris discography is more diverse than the Melvins. Every album is a different genre pretty much.
And Melt-Banana is not similar to Big Black at all you homo.
this is really good, reminds me of oingo boingo

Even after all these years, I have a soft spot for Gackt.
Merveilles is a good album, but I prefer Bara no seidou or Memoire over Gackt era.
What I love about the Gackt era are the singles.
Bel Air, Gekka and Illuminati are 10/10
surprised this hasn't been posted yet
dip - pharmacy
alt/neo-psychedelia rock

I like Memoire quite a bit and I enjoy the sound they went with on Bara no Seidou, I could just never get into it as much as the others cause I don't like Klaha's voice nearly as much as Tetsu's or Gackt's.
guyyyyyssss you weren't supposed to reply to the BAIT! come onnnn!!!
Takada Wataru
Wow, that first track is stunning. Downloading now
I really don't get why the Visual Kei bands are all crossdressers.
I really don't get why the glam metal bands are all crossdressers.
All of her albums actually
why has this not been posted here
Not really all of them.
In X Japan's case, Yoshiki played a role and did crossdress, sort of like doing a character. He's also naturally androgynous so it worked, but other members of the band like Toshi or Pata aren't going for crossdressing, just usual glam/goth/punk aesthetics, maybe in extremes when it comes to the hairdos.
Great album, I prefer this though.
this, shoso strip, and kalk zamen kuri no hana are absolutely essential.
Either this or Gan.
Damn all Uchoten albums are great.
Quruli's indie albums (Moshi Moshi, Fanderia) and their first five (Sayonara Stranger, Zukan, Team Rock, The World Is Mine, Antenna) albums are all quite good indie/noise rock and electronic rock, and their later albums (Rutsubo no Volts, The Pier, Songline) are more of that with some world music stylings here and there as well.
decent album if you like britpop such supergrass and especially blur
Nice. I'll check them out too
They're hyper popular in Japan and Asia but for some reason barely mentioned in the west outside of the Sonic fandom (and even then, they only limit themselves to compare the Sonic songs to the DCT originals).
Anyway, great new wave/funk/soul outfit. Amazing songwriting and vocalist.
>mfw the Japs do Britpop better than the British
These
good night
