You guys should definitely check out The Jam. They’re pretty unknown these days and I’m sure a lot of you all haven’t heard of them. But they jam

Where should I start with them? Can I just get the greatest hits?
Are Paul Weller solo albums worth listening to?

All Mod Cons and Sound Affects are good, yeah

Sound affects is their best easily. Setting sons is solid for a concept album about post war vets

>The Jam
>pretty unknown
pick one

1.Sound Affects
2. All Mod Cons
3. In the City
4. Setting Sons
5. The Gift
6. This is the Modern World

Listen to some of their live stuff.
Their B-Sides are also fantastic.

But the Gift has all the bops?
Carnation, Happy Together, Town Called Malice...

They are popular in the UK and nowhere else

Exactly

FULL RICK

Also check out Weller solo and the Style Council

Johnny foreigner filter.

Fucking amazing band, a bit dad core in the comfiest way imaginable. Nobody really knows them in the US outside of Town Called Mallice and maybe That's Entertainment which is a shame. Talked to an ugly art hoe at a party a few weeks ago and she talked about loving post punk for ages but when I asked about The Jam she said she'd never even heard of them. Not sure what I expected there

this

SAW A GIRL THAT I USED TO KNOW, I WAS DEEP IN THOUGHT AT THE TIME

Holy fuck what a flashback

1. Start with Butterfly Collector as it's their best song
2. Yes and no, from that I'd rec That's Entertainment, Strange Town, Man in the Corner Shop, Start!, English Rose, Going Underground and News of the World as some of their best
3. Certainly not

I like their early mod-rock stuff. They must have been big fans of The Kinks.

Sound Affects is one of my favorite albums I listened to last year. good shit

>burger art ho
>bong punk
pick one

art ho "post punk" is Starbucks New Wave comp and Love Will Tear Us Apart exclusively
remember, women operate on a hive mentality and whatever information isn't spoon-fed/introduced at an earlier date will be of no use to them at present

style council is good too

I always considered The Jam mom-core like The Velvet Underground

You must have a pretty cool mom. Bet she did a lot of drugs.

Is English Rose their best song?

hmmmm... I've never really asked her about drugs, she's a scientist so I assumed she wouldn't have time for that stuff.

>mom-core like The Velvet Underground
Was your mom Nico?

Jam it up your ass.

Kinda makes sense actually. They're dad core for me cause my dad would play That's Entertainment and Bitterest Pill in the car all the time when we would go on trips

Saw them back in the day in a small club in Boston. It was awesome. At one point someone in the crowd handed Paul a bottle of beer and, because it was so hot in the club, he poured it over his head.

I've only heard In The City and All Mod Cons, what album should I listen to next?

Go in chronological order.

This was my mom's favourite band of all time. Can confirm almost nobody in the US knows about this band.

American here. I've been into them for only about 8 or 9 years. They're almost completely unknown here. I'd say their only minor US hit would be Town Called Malice. Great fucking band though. Not one weak album across their whole career.

Setting Sons is easily their best album. The B-side Funeral Pyre is incredible as well.

Ok is it true paul weller's dad wrote all the songs though? Because i think its definitely true
I was just thinking about this earlier today on the toilet

haha
yes
ew
It's true.

maybe if your english. iss alright
