>strat bridge on a jaguar? Why would they do this? >poo Ferro To each their own. I'm not going to judge a fly for loving to eat shit >squire You get what you pay for, if you're a beginner youll learn sooner or later why its so cheap
Daniel Diaz
Looks good to me. I've owned a squier and it's great.
I'm guessing a Les Paul, that was his main guitar for most of Crimson's first era output
Caleb Martinez
I want a strap for my classical. Does anyone know where I can get a strap like the one from the beginning of Desperado ? Or any cool classical straps that are hook style ? youtube.com/watch?v=w5fLGWrHouk
Cheap for a reason, as you learn to actually play you will realize it sounds like shit. Yes, some guy on youtube replaced all the electronics, bridge, and tuners, leveled and polished the frets, and rolled the fretboard edges himself and said "now it plays like a thousand bucks for an extra $200 investment!" but I don't think you're going to do that. The squires people actually do like cost $300-500.
Instruments cost money, get a nice used mexican fender at a pawn shop and shell out $50 for a setup. Since it's used, if you give up, it'll sell for close to what you paid for it. Just not at a pawn shop. They'll undercut the fuck out of you.
are you really going to let a 15 year old girl out-gitah you? imagine what the ladies would think if you couldn't play as well as a bunch of fictional teenage retards.
Japan's guitar industry is basically just making ultra high end copies of American guitars and paying koreans to make mid-range copies, and they hire a lot of American design talent, so they actually are good and fill a place in the market as making good guitars that are priced to match their quality and not their country of origin.
I actually can't think of a single electric guitar made today that can't be linked to American designs except for some far out shit like strandbergs. Why does the US basically control the electric guitar market with the rest of the world making the variants we couldn't be bothered with? I know it's a US invention and the nips love adhering to tradition, but is it that hard to make something other than a fancy strat?
This is a bad choice. Do not get a guitar with a Floyd Rose style whammy bar for your first guitar. It will be very difficult to set up. If I were you, I would get a Yamaha with a fixed bridge, like the Revstar 420. However, if you really want an Ibanez or a whammy bar, I would go with the Ibanez SA460QM because it has a bridge that is easier to maintain.
Alexander Rivera
tfw injured my wrist and cant play :(
Blake Moore
no he used a bass guitar
Jaxon Clark
I'm Brazilian and I never saw someone with a Craviola. I always see Americans designs.
Hunter Hernandez
talvez veria se saísse mais do quarto, gordão
Jason Lopez
That's why I always pretend I'm foreigner when I saw Brazilians. The whole thread is in English, and the monkey can't stand a chance to use his local language.
Landon Bailey
So you'd say that the ratio of American to Brazilian guitar designs in Brazil is more than, say, 7-1?
this is why i dont talk to other brazilians on Yea Forums, they all act faggy like this is some special place
Isaiah Clark
Thank you for your advice. I dont mind if I there will be no whammy bar, just want some decent quality guitar for a practice. That will be easy to maintain. Also lurking fender ones but idk about decent models in the same price range
Wyatt Flores
>relic'd
Gabriel Gutierrez
For the love of fucking GOD user do not get floyd rose as your first guitar.
About a decade ago I had played my epiphone for like a year, didnt really know too much and my parents got me this exact model. Learning how to use floyd literally caused me to stop playing until a year ago, it's just not worth it.
What kind of stuff will you want to play? Any shapes that catch your interest? Short scale, long scale?
There's no need to spend that kind of money on a first guitar, it will be a waste despite what everyone else will tell you. Get an entry-level guitar, a 15/20 watt amp for max $100 and play that for awhile. After a year or two, upgrade to a ~400-500 priced one with pickups aligned to waht you want to play, etc.
As a general rec, can't really go wrong with the JS11/22, LTD EC-10 aaaand maybe the epiphone les paul one.
Can anyone recommend a good classical guitar for an intermediate at a reasonable price?
Jace Diaz
>reasonable price but user, why subject yourself to a "bad" guitar when you can open up a new GC credit card and pay no interest for 2 years! instead of spending $500 you can now afford a $2,500 guitar for a small monthly fee!
Ryan Hall
lmao just get a martin
Robert Johnson
Is there any real downside to playing in classical position?
Hudson Reyes
Surprisingly it one of the best cheaper squiers out there
Kevin Jenkins
what audio interfaces do people use with amplitube?
i only have a small amp due to thin walls in apartment, and simulated stuff sounds cool. is the UM2 any good? it doesn't have to be pristine sound but something good would be preferred
i feel like i need to put my left foot up on something. and if you play standing with a strap it's gonna be in different positions. so i like to practice how i would play

>Hanging out at my house enjoying Sunday afternoon >Neighbor and her young son come over since they need help tuning his guitar >Show him a little stuff, advised he get a teacher since I suck at teaching but gave him a couple resources to practice >Mom pulls me aside, says how he can't have a formal teacher since his dad won't let him get one since it interferes with his dad's time(divorced parents, kid is bounced back and forth between parents like a ping pong ball) >That was the real reason why they came by and wanted to know if I could teach him. >Get pissed after they left since I was a child of divorced parents too. Fuck your dad boy, I will make you shred one day.
How do you quickly know what finger to use for a note? For example using the pinky on the 3rd fret high E string instead of the ring is very common but how do you in advance to do that?
Elijah Nguyen
GUITAR IS TURNING YOU GAY
Nathaniel Johnson
i suggest using a finger of the hand that is already near the fretboard
my hands are having this weird bow on the palm. at first it was only on the right hand from using a mini-mouse, but now it's on the left hand too. what are they? i still can play with the left hand but the right hurts too much to play bass.
Does the midas make a $60 difference? I'll have to read into it, seems like it gets good praise.
Would all I need after getting that just a simple adapter from guitar into PC mic port? I heard some people need to get an effect pedal to change some sort of signal, but honestly that shit is way above my level of knowledge right now.
Adam Cox
The mom needs some dick that the real reason
Lucas Morgan
How do I improve my bass-playing?
John Smith
Learning my arpeggios just having trouble memorizing which letter they correspond to since theres so many and matching patterns. Any tips? And how to match them
Isaiah Garcia
anyone got that dream rig template? feel like filling one out today.
what you using it for?
Brandon Jones
can HH be versatile for a lot of things? can I practice with HH at low volumes or doesn’t it work?
Robert Sullivan
Lads, I just bought this from reverb in mint condition with hard case for 750 bucks. I don't even play guitar but saw it and somehow felt like I had to have it. What do you think? Also, what is the recommended starting/practice amp that sounds well with a semi hollow guitar like the one I got?
>since it interferes with his dad's time You could talk with the kid and have him convince both of his parents to allow him to have classes. What a petty reason to prevent him from learning.
The dad is a gigantic motherfucking faggot. I live in a tight knit suburb where the neighbors and my family have known each other for years, and this woman's ex husband is a horrendous piece of shit whom everyone mocks. Unless there's a constant day in their schedule for a teacher, where his mom always has him on that day, its off the table.
Dylan Gomez
>that mixolydian shred
Colton Foster
am i doomed for life
Ryan Peterson
Not if you keep your wrists straight. So readjust your strap and reposition your bass.
Dominic Allen
i only play sitting and without a strap and ive been paying attention to not bend the wrists but i still get pain
Gabriel Davis
the right hand is getting stiffer too, like an old man's the left one too but to a lesser degree
Ian Martinez
So play with a strap for a little while and position it so that the neck is up higher than the body, and the strings on body are where your hand naturally falls when your wrist is straight. To alleviate your pain, correct positioning is key. If you don’t play correctly it’s never going to get any better.
Carson Barnes
Say I'm not a beginner anymore and want to get a decent guitar, what's the starting price I should be looking into? $500? $600?
Depends on your budget and how serious you want to get into playing guitar
Ethan Hill
I made a 3 chord pattern and I've got 3 different bass lines for it. Which is the best? Or alternatively if they are all shit, what should I do to make a better one. vocaroo.com/i/s1pOghQEzIb6
Brody Wilson
i would say flow and consistency. play simple basslines with consistency for example this song, might not be your cup of tea but this is a good example of bass playing. also learn chords if you dont already know them. youtube.com/watch?v=y1tKTjRgJuE
Cooper Diaz
the 2nd and 3rd would fit perfectly in the same song
Ayden Evans
can you play me a gmaj7b5?
Christian Long
I got a '93 Fender Super Amp. The two gain stages come on and off on their own when I am playing. The reverb also seems to not be working. Should I invest to get it to fix or should I just get rid of it? I have looked for information on the amp online, but there is not much. Any advice would be appreciated.
do you fucking retards actually think beginners are dropping $500 on an instrument they've never played before?
Jace Gutierrez
I can't play the guitar and I spent $1500 on one last year.
Luke Adams
How do you do it bros?
I pick up guitar once or twice a week, work out a melody by ear, do some scales and arpeggios and put it down. How do you practice for hours a day every day?
Andrew Lee
Make the space where you usually hang out the same as where you have a guitar. It isn't solely practicing but just fiddling around and having fun t least. I have a dedicated area in my house where I deliberately practice where my better guitar, amp, and equipment is. I used to just have an unplugged electric by my desk until I got a better amp so my old one is here too. Make it your "fidget toy" and you'll be good.
Benjamin Allen
The first guitar I bought was a $1600 Jaguar. I was 21 at the time.
Hudson Ward
Play while watching TV.
Leo Sanders
I wish I had the drive to do that still, only could keep it up while I was a teen. I became okay with being good enough after that instead of getting really good
Lincoln Barnes
? Yeah. I dropped 600 on my first bass years ago.
Isaac Nguyen
I'm the one who bought that guitar. Is it really that weird? I said I didn't play guitar as in I don't consider myself a guitarist; however, I'm not new to playing music as I do play other instruments–mainly piano. I wanted to get a nice instrument that I wouldn't need to upgrade soon after getting started and the one I found seemed to fulfill that. I actually was going to go for a cheaper Ibanez but after seeing the Schecter and going over its specs and reviews (and the deal I ended up getting) I didn't hesitate any more.
I posted the price I paid for the guitar because I wanted to know other anons' comments/opinions on the deal.
So, any recs on amps?
Dominic Rogers
I can practice every day because I enjoy playing my instrument. Idk
Benjamin Campbell
What I do to prevent skipping practice is to have my instrument ready to plug and play and do other things that don't require much attention but can be a bit of a mindless distraction to put up with the chore of drills. Things like watching youtube, listening to podcasts or even talking with someone while practicing chord changes, scales or solos that I more or less have memorized and just required speed/finesse to practice upon.
I paid over $500 for my Mexican Stratocaster, with case and shipping. I bought it off of mail order, sight unseen. I had been playing for 5 months at the time. Best decision I ever made. 23 years later, It is still my #1 guitar.

anyone here got any opinions on the Bugera V55? Some guy on craigslist in my area is selling one for $300. Listened to some demos on youtube and it sounded okay but my headphones are shit so I thought I'd ask here.
divorcee moms always make up shit to blame the dad because deep down inside they know he was the one more fit to raise the child and blame themselves for the divorce. every time.
t. divorce kid, ran away from mom, went to dad because mom was a fucking liar
Jaxon Gonzalez
Will playing guitar save my parents' long dead marriage
Mason Davis
>Bugera >55 Watt
no
Tyler Reyes
Care to elaborate? I'm gear illiterate.
Jaxson Murphy
Bugera amps have a bad reputation for their unreliability. So buying a used amp maybe without warranty seems like a bad idea. Although 300 bucks doesn't seem like a good deal for that amp. And 55 Watt is probably too much if you aren't gigging in big venues or play really really loud. You should settle for around 20 Watt.
I used to be able to do it in college but now I think I've grown tired of the music I'm able to play and guitar as an instrument isn't my favorite anymore.
If you're "practicing" without focusing on what you're doing it's not doing much for you. Cherish these moments user
Tyler Campbell
Anyone else do a quick guitar change for the solos when playing shows?
I'm trying to learn how to read notes but ledger lines are fucking me in the ass. I can play stuff just fine if it's in the treble clef. Fuck the ledger lines.
Cooper Williams
I don't know how anyone can read that shit
Noah Richardson
Stop memorizing shapes and memorize the notes and the function of the notes inside the arpeggio, also the function of the arpeggio inside the key you're playing on
No reason to talk about amps because we have modelers now and they are superior in every way.
Austin Collins
Why don't you believe the truth any more?
Kayden Nguyen
Because Oasis sucks.
Leo Davis
Of course they are. That’s why all of the big bands who can afford the best stuff get modelers, like...wait...um...hold on a second...
Jack Carter
AD POPULUM
Michael Garcia
Like Metallica, for example?
Levi Richardson
Except they didn’t, and even on their worst albums, the songwriting was fucking strong. Most bands would kill to have an album like Standing on the Shoulder of Giants. That it’s easily their shittiest album only shows you how good they really were. Even their B-sides and outtakes were great.
Colton Gomez
Not sure if serious.
Thomas Russell
I get static noises when I strum. Have I wired my pickups wrong? It's a humbucker so it shouldn't really make this much static noise.
Brandon Long
Gross.
Ian Smith
...Because modeler-era Metallica is known for their killer sound? And you can prove that they use modelers in the studio?
You’re talking about making pop music too, user. And quality in pop music is judged by popularity. So you’re making an Ad Populum argument as well.
James Sullivan
How can I have done any of that if all I have posted is "AD POPULUM"?
Wyatt Young
I can understand modelers vs amp live debate but in the studio? They are indistinguishable from real amps
Evan Hill
They don't do sag.
Dylan Bailey
Sag is an undesirable quality in an amp. Response should be immediate, if not sooner
Cameron Allen
Cool opinion. Does every single person in the world share it?
Noah Watson
Not a Fortin fan that metallic sound on the low attack And hollow mids just sound surgical and cold to me But to each their own
Yeah, no. I am an Oasis fan and they are one of the most hit and miss bands ever. It puzzles me how much disparity there is between their good stuff and their shitty stuff. Don't sit there and tell me All Around the World is a good song. Even Noel thinks its shit.
Michael Turner
It’d be decent if it wasn’t 10 minutes long. Cut it down to 4 and it’s a great single.
Josiah Bailey
Its still cheesy Beatles wannabe bullshit at any length.
Jace Ramirez
The first two albums are great, but I just had a listen to that track and it's an abomination.
Luis Lewis
True, but at 4 minutes, it’s not also neverending and immediately tiresome. It would get in, say its piece of stupidity and get out, and that’s the way pop songs are supposed to be. Lots of bands made derivative Beatles-inspired music that was good, including Oasis. Lots of bands made dumb music, including Oasis. The difference is that if you’re going to be dumb and/or derivative, you need to be brief. That way, it’s “a refreshing change of pace” not an oppressive exercise in lumpen wankery.
John Long
Guitar amps are now parity products. They're all the same under the hood. So when you buy one, you're really just buying the brand.
Joshua Turner
You can't believe this shit yourself
Josiah Myers
Do any of you play music or do you just shitpost ugly guitars and amps

Update on the Kalamazoo guitar. I found the headstock has a crack in it(I’ll show in next post). The top is also completely fucked.
Should I get an used Zoom G1XON panel right now for cheap, or wait a couple of months and buy a Zoom G1X Four in a couple of months when they're completely stocked?
>imagine not having a specific strap that matches your guitar You’re so poor you can afford a $20 piece of material lmfao
Robert Roberts
Shawn Lane played piano too? Fuck, I suck
Jordan Torres
Why else would someone buy a jcm900?
Christopher Morales
That looks like the remnants of a clean-through headstock break. I bet if you looked on the top of the headstock by the nearest two tuners, you’d see the rest of the break seam.
If the rest of the guitar is just as fucked, I would run the other way. If you didn’t buy it already, that is.
Joshua Williams
>imagine being so severly autistic that your straps have to match your guitars
Juan Butler
I’m not seeing much, the only thing that looks suspect is one of the seams on the headstock looks more prominent than the other. I didn’t buy it, this girl I’ve been hanging out with inherited it from her grandpa and I was just looking for some info on it.
A theory easily disproven by the fact that 900fag owns one.
Nolan Martin
No, you're gay because you enjoy having sex with people of the same gender.
Thomas Walker
>he literally only owns one strap
Ayden Wilson
He spent all his spicbucks on a JCM900 and some low-quality cocaine.
Dylan Gonzalez
Post things people with no skill take as priority in guitar. Ill start >owns more than one strap > owns enough pedals to need a pedalboard >has to make sure his guitar, accesories, and outfit match. >owns an offset with meme tunings/ and or meme gauge strings
Jason Scott
>owns a JCM900
Jeremiah Moore
>having money
Nathan Wright
Majority of rock musicians to play a large venue have no skill? Whats your amp bucko? >inb4 modeling amp lmfao
Carter Johnson
I state the facts and then you dedicate a whole projected green text to me :^) Swing and a miss
Lots of old Gibsons are worth a pile of money. That isn't one of them. The lump on the back of the neck (called a volute) indicates it coming from the 1970s, aka the darkest of Gibson’s dark days. That guitar sells on eBay for $500 in good shape. With a broken headstock, fucked up top and maybe needing a neck reset because those old guitars almost always do, she’s looking at a guitar that tops out at $250, and likely a $500 repair bill.
Jeremiah Green
>The lump on the back of the neck (called a volute) indicates it coming from the 1970s, aka the darkest of Gibson’s dark days. She isn’t trying to sell it but just wanted some info on it because she thinks it will make her closer to her grandpa. This is pretty cool and a good place to start, thanks user.
Alexander Martinez
Two wasn't enough.
Henry James
Way out of my price range. I've gotta stay within $500
Aaron Nelson
Also it's a jazzmaster. Full scale length, not manlet scale length.
Adam Peterson
Then why the fuck are you being picky? Then just get a $500 yammy. Case closed.

>ESP USA guitars >Generic superstrats >The rest of ESP's guitars >Less generic superstrats and a few super-teles >ESP's Japan only guitars >Wider range of series >Even more basses >An explorer shape >Fucking anime guitars, but instead of being recolors, they're unique in the product range >Fucking sonic the hedgehog guitars
>Schecter USA guitars >very broad range of guitars that look frankensteined from PRS, gibson, and fender parts >Schecter Japan guitars >alternate universe looking fenders and one semi-hollow
Why does ESP have a reduced range for the US market, while schecter has a greater and superior range? Copyright or just disdain for gaijin?
Jaxon Watson
Good morning user :)
Kayden Thompson
Believe it or not Deans korean inventory blows both of them put of the water and when it comes to usa custom esp doesnt come close.
