Is there any, I don't know, good KPOP music? Pop is hardly my favorite genre, but among that, something like Bad Romance and Oops, I Did it Again, while hardly masterpieces, are catchy songs that aren't just filler, and have plenty of variety. if u don't speak korean, it takes 2-3 listens (at least it does for me) to sorta "get" a typical kpop song. It's harder to get into the song but it has longer lasting power (whereas typical wpop songs are catchy but get old very quick)

I think I've heard this song, and maybe I can hear more details now than I initially did, (being high now also helps), but it ultimately leaves the impression of being generally "smooth," but monotonous. I suppose the textures are unexpectedly dense at times, but listening more close to them doesn't reveal hidden beauties, just details to look at that seem to result in "smooth" harmony.

I think these songs are actually quite dense compare to classical music, and it's all quite harmonious, but none of the details really add up to anything, so focusing more on the music to identify the parts of the texture is not revealing any profound elements. The manner in which textures are used to add unified complexity to a piece like in classical music is totally absent here.

It's tempting to watch this shit, but I'm going to focus on the music. I have to say, when I first saw ads in the music videos themselves, I found it to be a curiosity.

So far, I am not hearing this music as being better than Senorita. Seems like a bunch of various shit than barely resembles music. At least the refrain is catchy. Listening to this more, focusing on the music itself, I hear there's more variety to these songs than I initially thought, but none of is good, and it seems like they're struggling to make something unique that sticks, and it's constantly failing.

I don't think this music is for me, and I just have to accept that.
