The only kanye works I actually liked was yeezus and KSG. I don't see whats with the hype beside them. Can anyone explain why everything else is shit but praised?

I think there's no hidden meaning to his work. You probably just don't like it very much.
what are your top projects from him?
I like everything he's put out, but my favourites are TLOP, MBDTF, 808's, and College Dropout. They're by no means flawless, but they all resonate with me in some way. If you only like two records from him, that's fine. I feel the same way about Radiohead, I really enjoy OK Computer and think In Rainbows is good, but I can't muster much enthusiasm for their other albums.
HE ABOUT TO DO IT
Kanye is just a big meme. No one actually likes anything he's done except for maybe those underage retards from kpop threads.
Kanye is a gateway for normies to actually listen to some interesting music. A lot of what he’s doing isn’t for everyone and that’s why you don’t hear him on UK radio. At least not in Scotland anyway. Kanye conquered the pop world in his early days with his first two albums. I wasn’t a fan of those at the time. I’m still not, but I can’t deny my affections towards songs like ‘All Falls Down’. I appreciated him most when he got a bit more experimental and subsequently fell off the pop radar. I felt like Pablo had some of my favourite Kanye songs on it, but it also had shit like ‘Waves’. Easily my least favourite Kanye song. His most consistently good album is between MBDTF, Yeezus, and Ye. Ye doesn’t have a hard time making that list with so few tracks on it.
Glorious troll bait faggot. you almost got me.
Just because he sampled Can and KC once doesn't make him a gateway to more interesting music. He's just straight up normalfag-core period.
My dick. How can you compare him to everyday shit that gets played 50 times a day on the radio. A million miles away from anything Ariana Grande, David Guetta, Ed Sheehan or Calvin Harris is doing. He’s a gateway because he’s in the mainstream media and gaining a lot of attention in pop culture and not playing something completely generic. He’s not a gateway because he’s making the best or most interesting. He’s a gateway because people are listening to that type of music that probably wouldn’t be. I’d never be hearing one of my more normie friends playing a song that sounded anything at all like ‘Ultralight Beam’ had it not come from him. It’s refreshing I hear amidst the barrage of either acoustic generic male singers or dance song with the generic female singers.
>Kanye
>not playing something completely generic
My sides.
Listen to more music, Kanye shits the bed even compared to someone like 50 Cent.
Kanye is doing the same for hip hop as what Ariana Grande and Ed Sheeran do for pop - dumbing it down for normalfags even further. There's absolutely nothing to his music that didn't become a tired cliche at least a decade before it's produced.
You must be trolling. 50 Cent? I think I’ve caught you trolling now, but I’ll entertain it anyway since I’m enjoying myself. 50 Cent isn’t a gateway, not because I don’t like him, but because your average Normie isn’t even listening to what he’s doing now anymore. Just an absurd example. Like I said though. It’s not that Kanye is interesting it’s that normies are listening and he’s not playing what they usually listen to. There’s a thousand artists more interesting than Kanye. Even in his own genre. I prefer even what Tribe Called Quest are still making more than Kanye’s last few albums. Or Run The Jewels even. I prefer a million folk, but yeah he is absolutely a gateway.
It’d be a stretch to call the ‘Ye’ album hip hop. I struggle to find anything to compare that album to personally. Kids See Ghosts left little impression on me though.
You definitely can’t say he’d never done anything that hadn’t been tired out before. Look at the 808 album. Everyone hated it haha. I hated it. Worst album of the year for me. Couldn’t stand it. Then years later music changed as it does. I’m not crediting him for that, but as music changed the album became listenable. It’s not my favourite of his, but I damn sure like it. He was undeniably ahead of the curve there.
You ought to like at least MBDTF if you like those albums. Maybe a few songs off of Pablo.
based tlopposter
>comparing a producer to a rapper
Yea I did like a few songs off of tlop and mbdtf isn't that great imo
you might like mbdtf
Kanye is kind of like Oasis in the 90s in the UK. He thinks he’s the best, his fans think he’s the best, and that gives people the impression that he is the best. In reality his music isn’t that great, just as oasis’ music isn’t that great compared to the other massive bands of popular music. Kanye has teams of people working on his music, his lyrics aren’t that great and the vocals are often really boring. Having “muh beats” isn’t enough imo
The production on his albums is impeccable, but outside of MBDTF and a few other songs, I'm kind of skeptical that he deserves the hype.
Oasis never really explored any new areas of music like Kanye did with 808 though. I’d argue Blur were more comparitive.
Ya but blur didn’t have the ego that Oasis had, which is kind of a huge party of Kanye’s popularity. He was just another rapper/producer before he went complete egomaniac. Only then did people start saying he was the best ever or whatever
What? Kanye has had a huge ego from the beginning, have you even listened the college dropout?
There's a story behind every album he makes nowadays, which is appreciable.
hehe
