IS IT?
not for me, she´s a goddess tier singer
Joy Division get way more praise despite only having two albums. Banshees have way more great albums and are far more influential. The Cure are 10x more famous to normies despite how heavily linked the two bands are.
she's ugly
I’ve got no clue, they’re amazing. I think they’re properly rated by the generation who grew up with them but after the mid 90’s people don’t listen to them as much (which probably has to do with goth being such a bad word, see Chris otts awesome video on this subject “goth is a four letter word”.)
Completely agree. I believe it also has to do with the cures invasion of America in their chart success and their insane college following around this time. It just swelled and exploded by the time KMX3 came out with Just like heaven. SATB never had that despite a similarly large following (although they did very well in the college charts).
>Dark-punk's most overrated artist, Siouxsie has left behind very few compositions that deserve to be remembered. Most of her "music" was actually attitude, and therein lies her importance. She was an icon, and undoubtedly influenced bands worldwide. Goth-rock would not be a widespread phenomenon without her. But, unlike her model Nico, she was "only" an icon, and never a musician. Thanks to heavy promotion from major labels since the beginning of her career, she did achieve a bigger commercial success that the rest of dark-punk's emaciated ranks but at the expense of sacrificing whatever little originality her music had. If nothing else, the commercial scam helped give the genre some credibility with labels, which in turn materialized in a broader acceptance of gothic music worldwide. That is what Siouxsie will be remembered for.
You’re allowed to like popular music, user. Not everything has to be “underrated” or “overrated”.
t. handsome gentleman
What? I completely disagree. Maybe I’m taking the bait but Siouxie was the only real songwriter in the band. Spellbound? Happy House? Even the creatures work? Kiss them for me? Amazing songs with great textures, melodies, moments and feeling. Take away the instruments and the song still stands for sure. If anyone fails prey to your criticism it’s every death rock band
NEU! anyone?
youtube.com
No, I’d say they’re properly rated. Maybe overrated if you’re an indie fan whose into krautrock and you listen to like Amon duul or something and you’re tired of the same old bands like can or something.
I meant does the song remind anyone else of Neu!
neu! is the greatest rock band of all time, tho
I like the band but I don't care for her. I've tried many times. I think she's boring.
Oh my god, what is this meme? Who started it? Can someone tell me
Me too, it’s such a shit tier effort sage meme that needs to die, which is sad because I’ve been in some good threads lately and it’s come into a few of my threads.
I also think Patti Smith sucks but I weirdly love Mecca Normal. In my eyes she can do no wrong.
Best album?
Kiss In The Dreamhouse
Hyaena, because my boy Bobby Smith worked on it.
SEND ME FOR-WA-ARDS
because they couldn't write actual songs beyond like five tracks
Joy division is just a t shirt brand bro
