Fender Mediums because of Stevie Ray
that but 1mm
first thing i see that resembles a pick
What's the difference between nylon plectrums and let's say Tortex, in tone? I am also a fan of .70 - .90
You just have to try them. The basic factors that influence sound are hardness, thickness, and shape. IMO there's no substitute for hardness. Bone, fancy super hard plastics, and other harder materials sound distinctly different and IMO much better than standard plastic.
Fender Med/Heavy, Dunlop Tortex .73/1.14, Dunlop Max-Grip 1.
Been using the Fender picks lately, they feel nice but the slipping is aids.
It's a fucking plastic triangle.
Those picks are dogshit, change asap senpai
I use a pretty thick wooden pick, between 3 and 4mm
>It’s a fucking wooden plank
>2019
>not using a wooden pick
>dream guitar:
limited edition Gibson 2014 ES-335 Bourbon Burst
No it isn't, it's got strings, pickups, knobs, a bridge, electronics under the casing, the tuners, the pickguard etc.
A pick is LITERALLY a rounded triangle of plastic.
>Semi-Hollow
ive not used a pick in at least 10 years
or changed my strings in 15
though im thinking of buying some of this

and a few nails, and playing a block of wood from now on. Apparently lute players use this, its a cheaper alternative to the carbon strings.
Does anyone have experience? The idea of microtones excites me after being constrained by frets for so long. Im trying to think of the minimum number of strings. I think ive settled on three.
you posted it
This.
My fingers you bitch nigger
Sure, let’s ignore size, shape, thickness, material and all that jazz.
I use my fingers, I'm not some smelly American with fat sausage fingers.
Whichever is cheapest/nearby. Pick lives dont matter
My dirty fingernails
Same as you, OP. Best picks. That or the orane tortex ones.
>or changed my strings in 15
what in the fuck
I use another guitar as pick
this. used to just cut off the corners of library cards lol
this and the orange dunlop tortex .60
greenwood/cobainpilled
Dunlop 3mm Jazz Stubby
I would love to use a relatively "normal" pick again but the obscenely thick pick has become a bad habit. Don't become a Stubby addict, anons. Avoid at all cost.
Are there any picks which are especially good for tremolo picking? Right now I use a 1.0.

The red snarling dog's
These boys, I'm a bassist though.
bass player of my favorite band gave me one of these, and i'm using these since, in 1.14
jazz 3 or btfo
bassed
I play bass with my fingers
Been using these for a while. They wear out super fucking fast though so 6 for £6 is crazy, and they're so grippy that they can be difficult to quickly get my fingers indexed on but I love the shape and the picking response.
They're starting to sell Tortex versions of the Flow picks soon though so I'm definitely gonna grab some and try them out.
Try something extremely pointy.
And as stiff as you can manage.
hey that's pretty cool man
Go red tortex or go home
my fingers
Been using Jazz III XL for years, but bought a Dunlop variety pack recently and have been using pic related more than anything else.
I've got a few these weird blue patterned ones that I love, and a big green one. I have a bad habit of chewing them so the logos are all gone but they still work so I like them
>semi hollow
>not full hollow
go Casino or go home
absolutely based!
this.
i feel like i should switch to jazz 3s, and work at getting my right hand technique better though
1.38mm ultex jazz iii
I need that grip
>playing a gibson after 1960
Actually used to use these, found a pack of them somewhere. Kinda unwieldy though.
Make way plebs
ITT who plays what music?
Play?
Went from green .88mm tortex to jazz III to jazz III XL which is what I use now.
But I also tried one of those gray nylon ones and I quite like it as well.
I prefer the flexible picks for strumming and a thick, rigid pick with a sharp point for fast picking, but it also depends on the string tension I guess. Different picks give different attacks so it kinda depends on what sound I want.
I don't use picks. I exclusively play fingerstyle.

Usually people say "playing the guitar".
those in .73mm for guitar
tortex greens and fender heavy for bass
GorTar?
She looks so happy when she shows off her instrument.
Same here; I like using heavy picks on both bass and guitar although i've been practicing with my fingers mostly on my bass, I need to try and balance it out.
>using a pick
I get them beyond cheap and they are stiff but also slightly flexible
I love this shit so much
Does anyone like these?
These are what I use but I've also got some super thick picks I like for metal
For bass
>electronics
more like stone age basic wiring
>implying
why the fuck would I want a bright sounding guitar
I used to be a jazz 3 nigga til I found these.
Best pics unironically, use these for guitar too.
Cool, a gay guitarist
on guitar i use these, exact same gauge too
on bass yellow tortex picks
Tortex sharp 1.5mm
What's your style of playing? I have that exact pick and I find to be too soft to be useful when picking fast.
