I like the tune and beats here. It is simplistic but it works. I could see a very very slight cut on the resonance of the pad. But this is so minimal, it is completely a matter of my own personal taste. Very sweet song.
beautiful stuff
Very cool beat. I would like it more if the snare hit a little harder but all in all, it works fine.
there's something very positive about all the sounds and tunes. I see it as the opposite of dark ambient. especially the second half of the song. I like the slight distortion too.
one of the first songs i've made after getting music software few weeks ago, please critique. i want to know what things to avoid for the genre i seem to be going for. >ambient-ish >slow and mello instaud.io/3mbF
>just dropped a new ep took all month to work on would appreciate listens >post soundcloud rap soundcloud.com/lilkpin/sets/dead-by-26 lilkpin.bandcamp.com/album/dead-by-26 recs always banging if you got a better mic i could see this working as deconstructed trap pretty good but i think use of samples on your tunes would make them more interesting and stand out from other footwork producers that arent teklife love the sample usage and what you're going for here with the themes can't wait to hear the final mix honestly people who are critiquing capitalism are all doing it under boring vaporwave but this is different and fresh
I work with mostly electronic drums, lots of vocal sampling, harsh frequencies/mixing is an interest, usually poppier repetitive chords/melodies
My first album was largely written and recorded last summer. Most of these songs started out based entirely on samples of other songs, which were built upon later.
Cringe from the get-go, basic af production and just shit, in other words classic Soundcloud rap, I don't get this whole Miley Curseword persona lore thing, cringe, I guess it's mixed well Better, kind of reminds me of the song 'Motion' by Balam Acab, but obviously nowhere near as good or imaginative or developed, basic I listened to CHEM!CAL, I mean it's mixed well but it's also just boring, like the other two, LACKING IDEAS, there's literally so much music on soundcloud just like this, ugh 'That Which Is Not Easily Saved' (10 minutes ugh ffs I'll listen to 4 mins okay? deal) This is the best track I've listened to so far, not saying much, again there's literally thousands of people making music just like this, when the vocals come in it just ruins it, you should develop the ambient theme more, it should be like an orchestra symphony (seriously, no pretentiousness here), you start with a theme/motif whatever and you develop it, but the introduction of these vocals just tell me you've given up on ideas, also is that faux vinyl crackle? Look your ideas are lacking, I don't know, this is the best one so far Garbage, can tell from the first processed snare/clap, also ditch your image, 'dvd.gnome' is stupid, emoji song title is cringe, and this retro cartoon image horse, anime girl profile pic, and you're obviously a grown man, cringe cringe soundcloud classic heard this one before and shredded it, I think you posted on a recent previous share thread, I'll give u the abridged version of what I said then: BORING, UNDEVELOPED, UNINSPIRED -- and I like ambient music 10 minutes FUCK (Ooh it's an EP nvm) -- Probably best one I've heard so far, I don't really go in for rap music, let alone post trap, but what this has in its favour is ATTITUDE and a sense of IDENTITY, however this rap music, a style which boasts bravado lyrics and braggadocios delivery, so it's kind of unfair

HONEST REVIEWER BACK AGAIN
Absolute garbage, is this supposed to be industrial? Same boring note progression repeated over and over again, lacklustre development, AGAIN LACKING IDEAS FUDUCKUD, literally boring Stupidest intro ever, might've seemed conceptually sophisticated at the time, that tinny kick drum THUD that opens the track, cringe-inducing -- as for the rest of the track, look: it's not enough to make ">ambient >textures" -- it's BORING and u sound like EVERYONE ELSE in the """ambient textures""" """game"""" --- soundcloud cringe at its finest Honestly, it's like Soundcloud is divided into two memes: "Soundcloud Rap" and "SoundCloud Ambient Textures" HOLY by YAYA (WHOA)"vapor, vaporara, wavy, chill trap, chill wave, vaporwave" -- tells you everything u need to know really, again boring cringe the rap youtube thing u linked is better than the >new, I liked the video, but again, so many people are making this "smooth beat, chill trap" stuff and they have the cool videos as well, and the reverby background vocals saying "Get up bitch, get up" -- like do u want to stand out and do something different or what? ugh
Thing is with most of the people on these share threads is u all have Ableton and FL Studios and u all lack ideas, you're great at producing nothing, just clogging up the beige sea of nothing RECC* Best one I've heard in this batch of reviews, at first I figured this was by virtue of the piano being easy listening and not abrasive and ham-fisted like the stuff before, but as the track progresses you look to DEVELOP which is good, around 2:40 is the shift, honestly this is alright, and then the piano is heard again, it drops in and out, a nice centrepoint, comes back around 5:15, actually well textured and tastefully done, not bad user :) I would even go as far as to RECC*
ma boys >soundcloud.com/anappalachae/107a I appreciate the classical influence but I wouldn't call this "classical", it's too synthy and ambient, still like it though >soundcloud.com/anappalachae/106a still not very classical but I like the sound design, feels like the intro to a prog rock song, very cool the music is a bit bare, throw some 70's style string synth on this and a tambourine and maybe some square wave stuff (filtered or not) plus some dynamics to ease up the song structure and you're good to go
Thought cringe at first (after a while of listening to Soundcloud music on these threads u become familiar with the same sounding synths and drums, and the sounds on this are very familiar) but production is alright, would echo 'a p h e s s' in the comments, vocals sound awkward and out of place, need to blend better, lyrics are a bit cringe, I know the song is called 'Loser' but --> "Sitting back all day / jerking to anime / and playing video games / wasting my life away" & "working hard for a minimum salary / at a fast food joint / it's been almost 3 years / and I still don't get the fucking point" + "when will my patience / start getting me places / cos when I see my old classmates / there's so much happiness in their faces" "I wanna be rich and famous / but I don't wanna do the work / and I can't form relationships / cos I'm a fucking jerk" I mean u do call the song 'Loser' but dude on a personal level this sounds autobiographical and very real and now u do after all make post music on Soundcloud and then share it on Yea Forums so I'm connecting the dots here... u sound like someone with little to no talent currently engaged in the process of dreaming ur life away, as the Everly brothers might put it, you don't come across well at all, serious MAKE A CHANGE **RECC** Best non-electronic song (actually maybe best song on this thread so far full stop) I've heard on this thread so far, I mean it, VOCALS ARE BRILLIANT, the song is really cool and I like the lyrics, kind of cryptic but not in such a way that it makes it cringe -- overall, really evokes a mood and brilliant vocals, guitar sounds great, kind of folk pop I thought Importantly I'm writing the review for the next track and I've got ur song in my head *RECC* :) I mean... it's alright, like it's harmless y'know?? Doesn't induce cringe, I like the cover for the song with photo of the desert landscape and the pylon in the background - meh
HONEST REVIEWER AGAIN, NO.4 GONNA TRY AND MAKE THESE SHORTER
This is actually really good, I mean I don't really go in for 'post-punk spoken word skramz' but yeah it's noise and it's cool, not my thing personally BUT for people who are into post-punk noise music sure, this is probably pretty good -- Actually I've decided that it is good for what it is and I actually like it -- would definitely *RECC* also, it's live right? nice >:D Intro had me feeling optimistic, comfy sample, sounds like lighting and puffing on a cigarette, oh no wait it's TRAP so it must be a """"blunt"""" -- look I shouldn't really review >trap >chill beats et all etc, it's not AT ALL my thing, honestly all this bad bitch stuff (ugh fucksjwa@&*T£I) -- it's well executed and your vocals are good and the production is good but I THINK it's boring Heard this one before, pretty sure I reviewed -- it's g00d --- but again am I going to remember this? Will it stick in my head? Does it evoke a poignant mood? Does it really make me want to escape into the aural landscape -- this 'Spanish Dreamland' -- that you've created? No, not really, it's like I don't really care, it's like when u were a kid and on the weekend your parents were like (smiling) 'we're going on a nice drive out to [insert faraway town]' and you'd be like 'yeah sure whatever' get in the car and off u go... -- But HEY you're getting good feedback in the comments and it IS well produced and there IS development so nice one HOWEVER I think your levels are a bit high, it's too loud ah what the hell *RECC* I've seen you doing the rounds on various share threads lately, you've racked up quite a few listens and you're getting great comments, and I'd have to agree with what they're saying (also I like the rhino) -- really like it, keep up the good work *RECC*
HONEST REVIEWER AGAIN NEED TO MAKE THESE SHORTER BECAUSE TIME
Heard u before, doing the rounds again I see -- I like the cover art with the trees, obviously the track itself is very shoegazey, I'm not really into shoegaze, sounds kind of insubstantial, the guitar isn't doing much for me, I mean look it's shoegaze and I think shoegaze and kind of """indie""" in that bad narcissistic vanity self-regarding kind of way, "ooh shoegaze and existentialism" and kids wearing reworked vintage clothing -- shoegaze to me is cringe, vast majority of it anyway I'm not the right demographic for ur music so I'll just say it's well produced *RECC* 4 people into shoegaze U say shoegaze-ISH and I would agree with that, look I don't really obsess over tagging and naming and labelling, it's darker than the last track (see above, also shoegazey) Idk it's not my thing, great cover art tho actually I'm listening while writing this review, it has good development and does have movement and introduces new ideas and it is well mixed so *RECC* again it's just not my favourite style of music
sorry I can't do any more I'm tired
Inb4 thoughts/accusations of "lol you're wasting your time listening to music you don't even like and then complaining about how much u don't like it" --- actually, listening to music (good and bad) shared on these threads is useful because it lets you see what your peers (people in the same boat as you) are doing + it also sharpens your ear and forces you to focus on what you do/don't like about a sound, works to reinforce/change your ideas/perspectives

lol because you've listened to all of the songs on the thread
Jaxson Evans
this is okay. Vocals for sure need some work, in both performance and production. Music is also okay. its pretty lo-fi but not in a cool guided by voices way, more so in an amateur way. I think you guys are on the right track, but you just gotta stay at it. Work on stronger pop hooks, better sung vocals, and tighter playing while recording.
This is pretty neat. I like your voice, and i also like how its put underneath the music. I really like the energy that the drummer has. I can see, or hear rather, that it is a demo though. Gt a sharper sounding recording of this, play it a bit tighter, and you could have a pretty damn good song. You'll need to add more instrumentation and melody to make it more interesting too. Add some guitar leads or some synth in there. It's a bit repetitive. Overall though, i like this. Probably should end the song after that little quiet break, too. It's too long for it's own good.
this is nice and calming. Production is calming, and it is performed quite well. Having said that, it doesn't do anything for me. Rather generic and boring to me. But that's not a bad thing, this style is really popular right now. While I really don't like, lots of people do. Keep at it
Reworked this track a couple times. Would love to know what you guys think!
===================================
This is some fun music. I'm not sure how I feel about the vague trap influences, but I think it definitely has potential. I like the samples you use as well.
I like the gnarly guitar lines that come in and out of this. Some parts are basic and repetitive, some are really inspired. It's a mixed bag, and I'm not sure how to feel about your voice.
I'm the dude with the loser song, and yes it was autobiographical 3 years ago when I had originally made it, good catch. I've moved on from that period in my life. The beat might sound very familiar if you listen to Com Truise, as the beat is a sample of their song "Mind".
