I only recently listened to it but it resonates a sense of nostalgia for when I was younger and lived in a nice neighborhood full of friends and hot summers
Also a general longing for a time where social media was smaller, very 90s feel to it

I imagine a girl telling a man how much she adores him, then getting shut out of his life completely and her head anxiously repeats to itself

You could hear it coming through the little glitches, like the guy was showing signs, but by how she tries to keep the melody going and not spiralling out of control in the glitches is like ignoring the signs
The shoegazey finish feels like the girl breaking down and just crying it all out

This just feels like endless yearning for something and spiralling away from it when you get really close
The build up to the guitar is the idea coming in being yearned for
The guitar coming in is getting closer, with some small glitches tearing you down away from your goal
Then the longer glitch sequence comes in and completely destroys your progress
The ending with Rob singing is just acceptance you can never get what you want

I always thought of the album similar to this as well.The glitches with female vocals being a robotic girl and the parts where rob sings as a behind a more traditional band being human, and their relationship
V:D:C is like a predecessor of Her and Bladerunner 2049 to me.
