I love the music but maynard is fucking insufferable, I just don't understand his attitude, it's like he tries his best to come across as a gigantic prick and he dresses like a clown when he goes on TV. I fucking hate his personality and his whole "I hate my fans" shtick.
Went through the whole "duuuude lateralus is written like the fibonacci spiral, craaaazy" phase 15 years ago and I quickly came to hate other tool fans who think they have 250IQ.
I think they are the best rock band of all time but god I hate everything that surrounds them, and most of the lyrics are really quite dumb. I hate Alex Grey's art.

Still my favorite rock/metal band but I almost stopped listening to music and when I do it's mostly classical. Lateralus is fucking timeless, I've listened to it since it came out and it never gets old.
