Imagine thinking the band that made Yellow Submarine was more important than the band that made Heroin and European Son

I was trying to limit it to their Hamburg stuff, their covers get a lot less creative after they got signed imo. Rock n Roll Music on For Sale is a good performance but it's basically the same arrangement as the original. Compare that with how incomparable their covers are three years ago with the originals:

Lolwut no, have you literally never heard their Hamburg stuff? >youtube.com /watch?v=VEtvO1S-drU >youtube.com /watch?v=1JhtQInF-c0
That cover (and most of the Hamburg covers) are miles ahead of what they did with Til There Was You: >youtube.com /watch?v=c9pgxT4bkhg
Again, let's take any random Hamburg cover to compare: >youtube.com /watch?v=1xpSeaxRpCc >youtube.com /watch?v=rtJzT59WRVY

Shame, they never surpassed Brian Wilson and manage to write a song as good as thisyoutube.com /watch?v=QQ2OKoLpNBM
They'll forever be the second best band of the 1960s

it's common to compare Surf's Up as the beach boy's A Day In The Life, and i agree. I'd say it's the best track the beatles ever made on an album and shows the greatestness that came out of an actual lennon-mccartney collaboration. it's just as bit as good as surfs up.
