songs about leaving by carissa's wierd

It's actually this

Yeah it's this

Same but the only slowcore album i can tolerate is this since it takes influence from other more enjoyable stuff.

But i don't know if i should have that opinion since i have only heard two slowcore albums in full, both by Low (this and Things We Lost in the Fire) so i'll check this one out.

both are 5 stars for me
anyone a fan of Cowboy Junkies? They're a bit dad-core I guess, it doesn't seem like anyone younger really likes them but I was blown away by The Trinity Sessions

things we lost in the fire is hot garbage coming from low, I dunno why that album is rated so highly. I haven't bothered listening to any of their later stuff including double negative due to the bad taste it left but I imagine based on your post that it's more of the same. Things we lost, aside from a couple of songs, abandons all the authenticity of Low's brand of slowcore and as you said takes influence from other "more enjoyable" (poppy imo) stuff thus becoming a run of the mill indie rock pop album albeit a bit slowed down.

But taste is subjective so whatever

red house painters

left is a joke
right is a masterpiece

this opinion is a joke

I agree, the first three Low albums are depressive masterpieces but after Secret Name being a bit of a dud they went too far into indie rock

i mean they're not as depressing or slow as the other albums posted in this thread but i guess they're still considered slowcore so i'm posting it

if this is slowcore i guess i have no idea what slowcore actually is

listen to contemporary movement as well

how could it not be slowcore? lightly tapped drums, simple, reverbed guitar parts and slow tempos. It's not super depressing and it's more a dream pop album so it doesn't fit exactly in slowcore, but it's influential to the genre

this is lo-fi space rock, not slowcore

this is NOT slowcore
it's not slowcore

close... lowercase borders on perfect but i think half cut is a little better. really they're both masterpieces... love bluetile lounge a lot

might prefer the demo actually youtube.com/watch?v=J6f6y7P_AQ4

galaxie 500 aren't slowcore as we know it today but they were a big influence on early bands in the genre so they got grandfathered into it
just like how pinkerton was grandfathered into emo for influencing a lot of the third wave emo-poop bands
