If you're listening to field recordings then you might be too far gone.

All i want is one (1) good album of field recorded tribal drumming that's actually exciting and ritualistic and makes me feel like im about to go to war is that too much to ask???

>thing would be good if it wasn't bad
Good one OP

I was generalising. Surely there are non-boring field recordings

how would it be considered a field recording if there was actual music in it?

the music is recorded on a field

anthropological recordings

>tfw I read that over 2 million dogs are eaten every year in China

If you want to have a good field recording it boils down to two main things (preferably both):

1. something interesting (the location or the subject has to hold interest, which varies greatly by listener)
2. immersion. the feeling that you're not just having a detached listen to a thing, but that you're actually experiencing it or it's unfolding in front of you or that it's happening to you.

I do field recordings as a hobby and although it's not always successful, when I put the effort in to accomplish both of the above points it really resonates with people. Even built some of my own equipment so the sound of my recordings is a little more specific to me (in terms of the stereo field and immersion).

My dick would be huge if it wasn't so small

wtf these are amazing

you could try spicing things up a bit with a few well placed farts

To be fair you need to have a very high iq to understand field recordings

whats the name of the puppy album again i wanna see that cute lil boy

Thanks friend. I do put a lot of effort into them, glad you like!

well, that's basically just folk music innit

it's actually southeast asian classical

so, not a field recording.

field recording means recorded outside of a studio, preferably outdoors. and preferably not music

>preferably not music
exactly

Yea Forums - Music

Personally I enjoy when music incorporates field recordings into the composition
