This guy gets it. What else do you listen to user?
Have you listened to Led Zeppelin IV by chance? Like, any of it? Even a second?
yes. it's still formulaic pop
Alright, tell me right now that Stairway to Heaven was formulaic, and why.
repetitive, formulaic structure. sound is derivative.
He probably considers anything in 4/4 time or with repeating sections as formulaic.
t. zoomer
>repetitive
Have you perhaps heard of the chorus?
>formulaic
Tell me another song that sounds similar to Stairway, or any of the hits from IV really.
>derivative
Of what?
You're retarded
“4/4? Get on my fucking level! 12/8’s the game damnit!”
it's formulaic and boring by today's standards
Go to bed, dad.
>by today’s standards
user, fucking neck yourself. What song made after 1991 can so much as claim to compare to that? Or any song at all really?
Case firmly rested, bitch boy.
Ah, another of those fellas that believe that music was better when John Lennon used to beat his wife.
How are so many people in this thread falling for the boomer bait
>Greta Van Fleet
Christ they're fucking awful. Imagine trying to be Led Zeppelin when your singer's an ugly midget with zero sex appeal and your guitar player might as well be some faceless corporate studio hack
>led zeppelin is classic prog boredring on prog, it is NOT formulaic pop music in any conceivable way
Didja ever LISTEN to this album? It's not prog "in any conceivable way". It's blues rock. And the softer songs on it are folk/folk rock. But there's really no progressive rock on that album, nor on any of Led Zep's long players.
>boomer talks about “classic rock”
>he’s referring to third-gen shit like led zeppelin and not “good golly miss molly” or even “wooly bully”
That's rock and roll. Rock music is something else. Tutti Frutti is rock and roll. Gimme Shelter is rock. "Classic Rock" is soft 70's shit like Steely Dan or whatever
>formulaic
>7 minute "single"
fuck off.
>blues cliches that were already getting old by then
>writing most songs in the same two keys
>all solos are minor pentatonic wanking
>lyrics about sex and lyrics that aren't about sex but actually about sex
>literally plagiarized songs
How are they not formulaic?
Any CCR listeners here? I thought Green River was a nice listen for an album that's less than half an hour.
CCR is about as solid classic rock as you can get
