Band shirts: profound social statement or a sign of insecurity?

obviously the second one

oh look
this gay thread again

IS GARAGE ROCK DEAD?

Attached: the batmat.jpg (604x450, 41K)

is there nothing in the middle of the two?

Neither. To avoid whatever implication you think wearing a band shirt has, you would have to wear only plain shirts all the time that have no logos or designs visible at all.

And if you do this you look like a cartoon character, so it's not really great.

Attached: Bart_Simpson_200px.png (200x298, 19K)

it depends if you wear it ironic enough or not

false. even plain white tees is a band shirt

Creating this thread is a sign of insecurity. It's just a fucking band shirt.

neither - it's a souvenir

I don't think it's really either. I've never owned a band t-shirt (or any sort of apparel related to a band), but I would if I saw something that I like. I mostly just wear plain black or grey Hanes t-shirts (I get those packs of three), though, as I don't like to really be noticed, so any band t-shirt I'd buy would be pretty minimal in its artwork.

After my laundromat lost my LCD Soundsystem NYE shirt I've sworn off of them. Cloth is transient, fleeting. Memories are the thing.

>After my laundromat lost my LCD Soundsystem
Based Chinese laundry merchants.

OP,
You're a faggot and you're overthinking this.
It's a fucking shirt if you actually give a fuck you're an insecure bastard.

What if I just don't want to pay out the nose for the privilege of being a walking billboard?

Has anyone seen my protest the hero shirt? I haven't been able to find it for about 5 years.

Pretty much this. Solid color tees v just look weird. Band shirts are a compromise, I might not even like or know the band but it's better then looking silly.

Haven't been to mu in ages and this shit is still around lol

I only wear plain shirts

Kek

You don't have to wear band shirts, you can wear any kind of shirts. But you're still doing the same even if you choose to advertise for a sportswear or beer company just cause it's cheaper or free.

With band shirts, I feel it's best to have a small collection of them, the more well worn the better, you don't want to look like you spend a hundred dollars on them every week like some overzealous teen fanboy, just mix it up. You don't want to be the person who exclusively wears band merch but there's nothing wrong with having it in your arsenal along with plain shirts and other logo/graphic ts.

I only wear explicit political and social statements. My garment are of upmost quality and reflect my view on the world and how i want people to percieve me . I gouth thsi for 15 dollar

Lel this comment I like

Are you being satirical? I wear pth shirts.
Do I look crimge?

Why is there always so much discussion about band shirts. It's like the turbo autists on this board can't understand that people just like things and wear shirts for those things. Nobody is going to think your band shirt is "cringe" because most people won't recognize the band and won't give a fuck, and if they do then it's a talking point. If you're worried about some music autist judging your shirt, don't, because these people obviously don't go outside.

Literally DO NOT wear band t shirts

Wear whatever you want and don’t be a beta

Neither it's just a fucking t-shirt you stupid ass zoomer.

same but with my MCR shirt

>i can wear anything i want! Thats called being a grown up!

This guy wouldnt be considered cringe today

Staged photo.

Having bought tshirt means probably that you gave money directly to the artist of your choice in return for said tshirt. So yeah, see whatever meaning you want behind that but for me it's just that. And i try to buy shirts that have interesting logos and are of good quality so that i can wear them in public without feeling like walking advertisement campaign. It's also good starting point for convesations if you're a total tool. I've had chicks poke me 2 times cause of my tshirt. Never dudes tho.

Band shirts =/= video game shirts

Normal people:
>hey i like that band i'll wear this
>goes about day

Yea Forums
>i need to contemplate the possible ways people will see me
>doesn't put on shirt
>still thinks about it

Where are all the newfriends who look at OP pic and call him a poser who most likely discovered Swans through Fantano? That's always entertaining.

/fa/ would disagree
clothing is statement and you should always
wear most optimal set complimenting your natural look
wearing bad clothing is a waste cause you could be wearing something nicer in that moment

/fa/ has shit taste though

I think tour specific apparel is the most acceptable
It's all fine though, really

/fa/ is an autistic subculture just like Yea Forums is or any board here. And also like any other board, the average person would think they are retarded for having the views they have.

You might as well wear a video game shirt if you are going to wear a band shirt

Autism

A video game shirt tells people you like to twiddle your thumbs and sit in front of a screen for hours at a time. You can still be "productive" while listening to music.

I'll only wear shirts with text if it's something I don't care about.

>wearing bad clothing is a waste cause you could be wearing something nicer in that moment
Dumb

>A video game shirt tells people you like to twiddle your thumbs and sit in front of a screen for hours at a time.

Most times it just tells people you're into retro nostalgia and are le quirky, since 90 percent of the video game shirts sold are Super Mario and worn almost exclusively by blue haired girls and twinks with big glasses and emo hairdos.

/fa/ is cringe like the rest of Yea Forums

Who gives a shit what /fa/ thinks? Most of the shit that they think looks good is retarded and, I hate to overplay the term, but it looks like basedboy garbage. Not to mention that I'm not going to trust Yea Forums(nel) for fashion advice in the first place. Half the people on /fa/ probably have a tab open complaining about "roasties" on /r9k/ while posting McChicken memes on /ck/. Granted, it is the best fast food sandwich, to be fair.

sneed

Band shirts: shirts.

It just makes you look really two dimensional and takes all the mystery out of you as a person.

based viral marketer

>tfw this is how I dress
Every time I shop for clothes I try getting something with designs or patterns on it but I end up leaving with blank solid colors every fucking time. I'm so boring.

Pretty much all band shirts are cringey as fuck.

do American people still think that wearing a band shirt to that bands gig is the most uncool and cringey thing you can do somehow?

From 4th-7th grade i wore almost exclusively slipknot shirts. I was the man

>normal Miles Davis or Slayer
nah thank you.
>Slayer x Supreme
oh shit nigga I'ma get all dem bitches. How much? 90 bucks? Steal.

what's wrong with it? genuinely asking

It shows that you like something.

Like everything when it comes to fashion
If you're attractive and socially pleasant, you can pull it off
If you are ugly and awkward, you look cringe

imagine being so young that you actually believed this.

yeah, i was trying to buy a marvin gaye shirt recently, and most of the listings were shitty supreme shirts that just placed the album cover on the center of the solid color shirt.
looked like shit, and they were like 100 bucks.

imagine looking like bart

I think a general rule of thumb for wearing band shirts is for it it to be a minimalist or simple design. Wearing a t shirt of the actual musicians or a clustered album art like pic related just seems to be meh.

plain shirts with no logos or designs are the best tho. Designs or logos make you look like a kid
