envelopment and wall of noise
people will be pushing and shoving but probably not a "pit" type pit
go loosey goosey and just enjoy yourself in getting lost in the music and crowd

Saw them last year, was fucking intense, get as close to them as possible so you can experience it all
Ayden Baker
Couple art hoes and indie bros. Very few metalfags or niggers. Have fun and get ready to bawl when they play dream house
Austin Rogers
I seen them with Carcass about 3 years ago in a venue of about 400 people. Was awesome!
The Takeaway:
>Legitimately better than the album in terms of performances and, at least on the night I saw them, sound.
>the shoegazey "wall of sound" is in fact fully intact, huge, and quite moving if I don't say so myself
>don't expect any bant or audience interaction. the singer has no charisma and doesn't want any, comes across fairly pretentious actually but it's fine because it's all so good. if it was shit the guy would be a clown
>actually quite a bit of stage diving and shenanigans and the band is all ok with it. the lead singer grabs willing punters and throws them into the crowd but is careful to remain serious and not crack a smile
all in all a good show. be careful though, the emotions are massive that shit'll creep up on you when you aren't expecting it

I was at a Deafheaven concert, it was fucking nuts.
First they get up on stage and George reads a passage from some feminist book. He then calls for all straight white males to get to the back walls. I am a straight white male, but I didn't move. A few guys move to the back and some dominatrix like girls come out and press them to the wall. A few other dominatrices came in to the audience searching for others. One asked me and I said I was gay. She bent me over, ripped my pants off, and pegged me. Luckily I have a lot of practice with shoving things up my ass, so I didn't cry. She believed me and let me go. With all the straight white males gathered against the back wall, the band started playing a simple chord progression while George screamed, 'Fuck straight white males! Kill them all!' The dominatrices take out guns that look like dildos and start executing them. People in the audience are cheering as this is happening. The last guy left is crying, so he is taken on stage and crucified while Deafheaven starts performing. He made it through 4 songs before he presumably died or passed out.

>Earlier this year Divide and Dissolve released ‘Abomination’, an album designed to dismantle racism, sexism and thus white supremacy.
Ryder Scott
They're almost like a satire of Melbourne social justicey types, I saw them as Gizzfest and through their whole set I was thinking what the fuck is this shit. No idea how they landed the support
Dominic Butler
This sounds like a mediocre copy of Shit and Shine

Did you think that was going to be funny or something?

Does Yea Forums like Deafheaven now?
Camden Baker
Yea Forums has always recognized the niche legitimacy of Deafheaven. the loud minority of fringe edgelords have poopoo'd them since day 1, but that's all meaningless
Angel Davis
I saw them years ago when they opened for Alcest, pre-Sunbather days. Even then they put on a hell of a show.
Nicholas Rivera
>if you don't like muh safe dilettante garbage you're an edgelord
Jack Johnson
no, just some people seem to dislike music for reasons other than the music itself. like, for example, the subjective perception that's safe or "dilettante garbage"
