Have it playing in the bachground every time you watch porn, eventually you'll come to like it.

Mozart, Erik Satie, and Steve Reich made some easy to get into stuff that’s still all time great tier.

Start with something relatively accessible and short.

I got into classical by having an older brother who plays classical piano. I grew up listening to his playing echoing through the whole house. See if you can get an arrangement like that

Ok got the arrangement. Now what user?

Listen to him play Holst, Saint-Saens, and Mussorgsky for the next 15 years until you come to associate the sounds of classical with home and take comfort in listening to it

See for a starter chart or consult the classical section of pic related. I'm just starting too.

I wish there was a good place to download classical shit. I know what I want but ss/rutracker are not good for this and I hate stuff like spotify and youtube

Learn an instrument. (No, not guitar)

Cut it to just classical

I grew up hearing all this stuff mate

Form and arrangement are significantly more important in classical music than other genres. Also when you say classical do you mean 'classical' as in 18th century Mozart and Haydn etc, or are you painting a broader stroke

>playing music by composers who wrote for ensembles and instruments other than solo piano

Well you can't play a fucking full orchestra by yourself dumbass. One man generally plays one instrument at one single time, and he played piano and those three pieces are the ones he played the most

...and I'm implying he has shit taste for not playing music composed by those who strictly composed for the piano: Chopin, Liszt, Medtner, .... the list could go on.

I'm sorry, did you think because I listed three composers that those are the only three he knows and plays? Answer me seriously, do you have autism of some kind?

hi

This is autistic. While I agree that composers like Chopin, Lizst, Rachmaninoff, etc are great, there's no sense in bashing someone for playing the music of someone not in that category.

Start with Josquin, proceed with Orlando, then Palestrina and Monteverdi. Your judgement at this point is likely the most important junction for the continued development of your taste.

They're all shit tier composers, far too idiomatic much like all other musician-composers.

start with the classics

Start with the Viennese.

Does this work with anything? Is that like some pavlovian thing?

Max Richter is spot on.

holy fuck calm down, who pissed in your corn flakes?
