Classical music is so evidently superior to all other kinds of music, yet we keep lowering the standards when we talk about other types of music, to avoid the uncomfortable situation where the butt rock dude or the druggy EDM boy gets anal pained when they are told the great masters are better than their shitty hedonistic hero.
Instead of white guilt, in the music world there is "classical" guilt. We keep lowering the standards for other kinds of music to compensate and preserve our dream of marxist culturalism. Of perfect musical relativism. Guess what? It isn't true and the compositional talent and imagination displayed, which is all that counts in the end when we have to say what is worth being saved and what not, is infinitely superior in classical music than in any other form of music.
If your shitty pop muzak is an 8 what the fuck are Beethoven's late string quartets? a 400? most music is barely a 1 to 3, the Beatles fall in here and so do most other popular music with very few exceptions that reach a 4, even a 5. Bartok string quartets would be a 6, 2 degrees of magnitude higher you have works by Brahms and other great masters. Then 9 and 10 are reserved for the highest achievements of human race like Beethoven's late string quartets or his Missa Solemnis or Mass in B minor by Bach or his Brandenburg Concertos.
Based and redpilled. Might work on a classical timeline chart to replace Yea Forumscore.

The romantics were druggies too user

Classical music is gay. Make another corny meme image. Won't change the fact that only pseuds listen to classical exclusively. There's a reason we evolved past listening to that garbage
Charles Jackson
You should, so we can ignore it and laugh at you faggots listening to Mozart in 2019
Jace Nguyen
cringe
Jaxson Anderson
>There's a reason we evolved You mean devolved which shitty modern music that is harmonically, texturally, structurally and lyrically garbage just proves time and time again.
Carson Rodriguez
>evidently superior In your opinion
Oliver Garcia
I know this is pasta, but still why would be Bartok's string quartets just a 6?
Joseph Gray
Nah, most of it is objectively superior in musical parameters and terms. Your personal perception however is subjective.
Interesting thought. I think the rating of modern pop music should be interpreted within the context of modern pop music. Otherwise the mentioned problem arises.
Jonathan Miller
> musical parameters and terms whatever those are, classical is only superior in your subjective preference of those
Angel Rogers
Classical shit has no groove. Fuck that gay music.
Nicholas Brooks
>peathoven >anything higher than a 4 >especially his proto-wagnerian late dreck t. neophyte
Kayden Wright
>marxist culturalism stopped reading there, you pseudo faglord
Landon Evans
Those are harmony, (motivic and thematic) development, texture, colour, structure, form etc. and there are objective parameters that determine whether music is advanced in those categories. A lot of classical music excels at those, pop music almost never not even close. It's your subjective perception though that determines whether you like it or not. Objectively speaking, classical music is musically just more interesting.
> harmony, (motivic and thematic) development, texture, colour, structure, form complexity and richness of all of those should serve the context and enhance the effects. depending on what you're trying to express, less can be more and more can be superfluous. rating a piece purely by how much of everything it has is stupid. if it was so, every damn instrument in a room playing as much notes as possible would be the best music > Objectively speaking, classical music is musically just more interesting define interesting. piece can be parametrically simple and hold my attention throughout. it can be complex and bore me to tears. it depends not on the parameters, but on the application of them.

Karl Marx was a Rothschild reject who starved his four children to death while smoking opium and writing his shitty books. Imagine that. >Oh my goodness...how could this have happened...I guess I should finish my book He did that on four separate occasions.
Juan Sanders
>It's good because it has lots of instruments and sounds important
Connor Powell
neither of those are the reasons that its good.
Its good because the people who write if know exactly what they're doing, and don't care about popularity, or trying to get rich.
Carson Jenkins
And what the fuck does this have to do with music you fucking retard
Luis Powell
Everything is music

>aristocratic Classical music has been the domain of the middle classes for a solid 150 years.
Josiah Smith
You know that marxism and bolchevism are different things?
Leo Powell
This desu. Modern """"musicians"""" can't even into counterpoint. Sad!
Brayden Garcia
No it never has been. Bourgeoise isn't middle class also
Jaxson James
>nitpicking semantics Look buddy you and I both know well what both terms (rebranded and original) imply and how euphemisms work. No need to act stupid.
Thomas Carter
Bruv it was created to appease stately dukes/nobles/etc in thier fashionable baroque dining parlours. For the majority of its lifespan classical was only provided by musicians to those that could afford it
William Anderson
It has literally been. Every big composer after Haydn has been a middle class man, living in a large metropolitan city, performing for middle class people and funded by concerts attended by middle class people, catering to middle class tastes. Music stopped being in the domain of the churches and aristocratic courts around the 1750-1820s. There is literally almost nothing aristocratic about classical music starting with late Beethoven onwards.
Jacob Morgan
Nigger the baroque era ended in the middle of the 18th century. I said last 150 years. See Classical music musicians stopped being servants when the classicist era/tradition started dying out.
Dylan Perez
Is jazz considered "modern"? If you say that jazz is modern, that means that modern music has been evolving for a century, more or less. But that's probably the most you could stretch it. Meanwhile, classical music has been evolving for 4 centuries, maybe more. Of course classical is going to be better psued
Owen Robinson
that can be also be applied to your random bandcamp sperg
