I certainly liked that album, but I found it truly nasty, bordering on unlistenable. As much into noise/no-wave as I am, i think it's undeniable that this record is relevant mostly as a piece of history.

I like Gardenhead, but I think it's played much better live. I really like how On Avery Island / April 1st is played as a sort of transition between the two songs. It makes me wish that they did that on the album.

the alt-rock beat of the studio version makes it more raw, more heartfelt, i dunno
