lets dance is great

its tonight and never let me down that are the stinkers, and tonight has some good songs even (neighborhood watch, blue jean, loving the fuckin alien) that are just held back by production

but yeah this glass spider shit ffuckin sucked

I don't think so, if the album didn't have the hits then it would suck because that's what it purely relies on

It's more about what it represents, Bowie sold out and he knew/admitted that. It tainted his career super hard. He was fed up of making albums that he like making but there was no marketable outcome.

>“Let's Dance put me in a real corner in that it fucked with my integrity"

Let's Dance was originally a folk song but Niles completely butchered it against Bowie's wishes and made into a shitty disco song.

>no nile, don't turn this song into a shitty dance song and make me sing it
>nile please stop, don't turn china girl into a pop song
>nile please dont make me write tonight and never let me down
>nile stop, you forced me to do the glass spider tour

Post 80s Bowie was fucking shit, except Cat People.

Holy fuck I would've loved to hear a folk version of Let's Dance

>They used to call me the Tor Pedo you know...

>fucked with my integrity"
Bowie said that because it became cool to hate his 80s period. He never had integrity.

is this bait?

Say what you want about 1970-1975 but not even memeing, from 1976-1980 everything he did (and that was usually a collaboration) was complete gold. Five fantastic albums after another, two of them are perfect

Bowie had a consistently fantastic career from like 1969-1983. I struggle to think of other artists who were able to maintain a level of quality like that for so long.

Fuck, even after the shit in the 80s, his albums from like 1996-2016 were all pretty great as well.

Yeah and I like the glam rock stuff, but I think his everything from Station to Scary Monsters is timeless. Low will always sound completely fresh

Let's Dance is good and Nile Rogers>Brian Eno.

I feel similar, to be honest. The glam era is great, but I could take it or leave it in comparison to his post Young Americans, pre Let's Dance albums. Goddamn those are just 5 perfect albums.

lol.

Lads, I've been listening to the Young Americans album back to back for like a month straight. I can't stop. It's a perfect album and with the bonus tracks it's a solid 11/10

Someone?

Completely false.
