I never loved any band as much as I loved Smiths when I was 17, i listened to every single version of every song they recorded, i relistened 2 or 3 of their LPs everyday, knew all lyrics to their songs, felt so connected to the band. Its been like that for almost a year but just 1 month right before i turned 18 something turned off in my head and I slowly started listen to them less and less until 2 months later I completely just stopped. I don't know, even though I acknowledge that their music and lyrics are great, i just dont enjoy their music anymore, feels like I grew out of them
