>DUDE, WHAT IF THE BEATLES PLAYED ON MTV UNPLUGGED LMAO!?
Heaven Adores You doesn't count? I haven't seen it but it gained some traction when it came out a couple years ago.
It is surprising Lou Reed hasn't had anything yet with him being dead now
Probably because he was a jealous piece of shit most of the time.
I mean Nico had that documentary recently but yeah
unironically too soon. Give it a few years
unironically
You're not wrong. There's a number of 60s/70s rock bands that don't really have a decent movie of either
You can't make a fully fledged documentary about Elliott because his death has two narratives and while one is already pretty controversial the other will have his family immediately cease all production.
That's why you save "the end" for the end.
he was a better songwriter than any of them.
Either the band or just the album. Not even a VH1 "classic albums." You'd think something that started the whole "post-punk" thing would get some recognition.
Are we only talking films? Nick Drake for sure.
didn't he die a virgin? fuuuuck he's my idol
There's Control, 24 Hour Party People and numerous documentaries you can find online which chronicle the making of the album, alongside the rest of their career. Also, Unknown Pleasure didn't start post-punk
It's pretty much ground zero, my dude
Control is not documentary. It's still a good film tho
Good thing OP said documentaries or biopics.
It being the recommended starting point for someone getting into post-punk is not the same as it starting post-punk. There are several albums - some of which are on this chart - which predate Unknown Pleasures and are better candidates for the title of 'starting' post-punk (The Idiot, Marquee Moon, Low and Heroes, Talking Heads '77, Wire's first two albums, Ultravox's first two albums e.t.c.)
Im sorry, i didn't read carefuly because im drunk. You are right.
fucking drake
It's decent. I've seen it twice now because it's comfy. Just mostly friends talking about sort of vague memories. Nothing too deep into his life or recording the albums (the biggest disappointment for me)
they sort of left it open as a suicide/homicide at the end before the credits.
