>Post-punk revival is trash
It's in the same boat as the genre it's based on in terms of quality: some good stuff surrounded by hot garbage.
We did have a /post punk/ but plebs killed it.

Based and Post Punk Pilled
Tbh famalam, I haven’t listened the new material from The Pop Group yet, but I heard it’s dope.
Early Bloc Party is Tolerable.
Most revivalist bands from 2000-2010 is hot trash
what do you think of Iceage? their new singles were garbage but I found beyondless as a whole pretty enjoyable.
keep up the good work post punk friend
What do you guys think of DANCE PUNK?
Do you guys prefer the more No Wave direction it was going in initially, or the heavier more electronic and indie rock direction it went in with the revival?
>DANCE PUNK
crypto-disco
Iceage is awesome for the most part.
Their last album is the most contestable, but even that album has great material.
Pain Killer and Catch it are total Bops
I can't fucking wait for the new Drab Majesty album.
Tropical Fuck Storm needs to make more music

a bit overwhelming desu but I love how original their sound is compared to most revival counterparts nowadays. any info on it?

Do you guys know any dance punk like Movement by LCD Soundsystem
Punk noob here, what should I listen to if I'm really into Black Flag and Show Me The Body
the gun club, wire, the fall, gang of four
Aren't black flag and minor threat technically post punk. If they are then aren't they subjectively the best post punk
Minor threat
>We did have a /post punk/ but plebs killed it
Yes, you sure did with that entry-level list.
There's a place for entry-level post-punk and more obscure artists, I mean not everyone coming to this thread is going to be that familiar with it and need to start somewhere
Thoughts on The National? I found the Alligator album to be pretty decent.
black marble is good
also does anyone have a higher res version of ops pic
Yeah, and the list just happened to be about the most entry-level ones, had nothing to do with the user not knowing shit about post-punk other than those entry-level bands.
What's Yea Forums's consensus on XTC? They're not strictly post punk, but I figured here would be the best place to mention them. I ask because I rarely ever see them mentioned, despite being one of the best acts of their era.
Is there any other band with a sound similar to The Chameleons?

That’s just a normal punk song
Death from above
I tend to gravitate to the more melodic offshoots of post-punk, like jangle pop, synthpop, new wave e.t.c., but there are exceptions to this.

Pretty sure most people on Yea Forums rate XTC highly, especially albums like Skylarking, English Settlement and Drums and Wires. I definitely prefer their 60s psychedelia inspired albums to their earlier post-punk stuff, but both are good.
Good to hear. XTC is way underrated, so it always makes me happy to see them getting the love they deserve. I guess I must just miss those threads.
Also, their Dukes stuff and Oranges and Lemons are some of their best.
Posting more dreamy post-punk.

I miss these threads desu. I remember finding out about a lot of great lesser known albums, but I guess nowadays all we do here is shitpost about the flavor of the month.
