Today, I had to euthanize my 6 month old kitten because I could not afford the leukemia treatments that we found out she had roughly 30 minutes prior.
My mistake was staying in the room, holding her paw while they injected the final serum that ended her life.
The vets mistake was not closing her eyes.
As she passed, I watched the life drain from her eyes. It has haunted me all day.
My liver will handle what my heart can't.
RIP Cocoa, you beautiful maine-coon mix, I wish dearly I could have done more for you, you did not deserve such an early grave, you had so much life and energy in you until your final moments. Please forgive me.

Get another cat who needs a home, tell it about your other cat. So many cats need homes. I go to petco most saturdays because its next to a place i go to for work. cats as a species need support. So many people regard them as varmints. I rescued a cat who had to live under a blanket inside a box because it was traumatized, after a year she is like a small human. shes a norwegian forest cat. when i get a bigger place ill get her a kitten to keep her on her toes.
