Get a real job and quit complaining. Shitty service gets a shitty tip.

I'd love to see her tits.

of course, 0 is also acceptable, otherwise call it salary and make your employer pay for it

shut up Hannah

I'm an air traffic controller. I went to college and got a degree in the field. I took several pilot ground schools. I went to the FAA academy and got put through the grinder for 3 months. I study the 7110.65 every day. I'm constantly updating my lexicon and working to improve my efficiency. I work shiftwork up to 60 hours per week. Sometimes I get off work at 9 PM and have to be at work at 6 AM. I don't get holidays off. I don't get weekends off. I don't get to take leave whenever I want. I work when the government shuts down and the paychecks get put on hold. I'm stressed out all the time. I don't get to go home and smoke pot to relax. I can't take any medicine stronger than advil without getting medically disqualified for several days. I have people's lives in my hands. I have to be professional 24/7. I work hard. I earn my pay.

I don't want to hear someone complaining about not getting handed a $20 bill for successfully walking a tray 10 feet across a room.

$6.50 is 10% and that's what I tip.

/thread

What a dumb fucking cuck. If you wanna bitch about getting your labour exploited maybe you shouldn't have picked such a shite job.

after the last thread, i've decided to stop tipping 95% of the time here in San Diego, since 1) im not tipping cashiers 2) everyone is asking for tips now as if a paradigm shift is occurring 3) servers make enough money in cali 4) I will tip if i'm in a state where servers only make like $2.00 an hour

this

Jealous

You a fucking idiot. Why would you ever put yourself trough that bullshit. How you enjoy your wife getting fucked by another dude while you go out and throw your life away at work. Maybe you'll understand when you don't time to go to your daughters Al-user meeting. kys you waste of shit.

Lol this guy tryna humble-brag but really is just another wage slave with a Fleshlight in the top drawer

You could say the same about the person that made the Tiktok I guess

Jealous of what waking up 6am, or working 60 hours a week like a wage slave?

Attached: 5bf.jpg (480x318, 17K)

You guys got me. I'll be in the corner wiping my tears away with $100 bills if you need me.

honestly anything outside the mf bill is the tip

You're so blatantly jealous hehe

Bitch you ain't got time to go to the ATM to get them hundies, get back to work, your wife needs to be something spicy from VS to impress that BBC she's been riding.

Ever worked with customers or serving people? We don't usually tip in my country but I always tip something. It's like a bonus for dealing with people's shit all day.
Plus, usually the pizza guy will get you something free next time or the bartender will immediately serve you when you go to the bar.
Tipping has a lot of perks.

As someone who just recently left the industry, honestly, it's a lower tip but I'd consider it acceptable.

Sounds like you're a bit of a cuck.

I do love that I decided to be an engineer and get paid at least twice as much as you (probably 3x to 4x if not more). I work maybe 28 to 32 hours a week with full time salary. I take my vacation whenever I want, I work from home whenever I want (though it's nice to go into the office and see my coworkers, and I do have around 15 to 20 hours of labwork per week.

I would never accept the conditions you've expressed. I would literally murder/suicide people if I was faced with your life.

What a fucking cuck.

>this thread again

Tldr also you're a fag

Right can you imagine being dumb enough to brag about being a serf.

Yeah I worked at a pizza place while going to college, 20% of my income was tips. As I worked my way up from shift lead to manager I always told my employees that they should be grateful for tips and should never expect them, I never cared to hear them complain about not getting tipped.

This was in California where the minimum wage was plenty high and the employer didn't even make us report tips which meant it was a tax free addition to our hourly wage. Even in that job I was on my feet for several hours working next to hot ovens for hours at a time and it was still the easiest job I've ever worked, angry customers and all.

>$6.50 is 10% and that's what I tip.

Why does the cost of the meal have anything to do with the tip? Does Pierre at the fancy restaurant deserve more tip than Sheniqua at the waffe house just because he schlepped better food to your table?

How much you wanna bet that BBC goes mom to daughter back to back to back to back while hubby/daddy is working his cuck-ass-life away.

>I make $600,000 per year
Cool story, bro!

women are only satisfied when the tip is over 6"

yes if you pay for a $70 plate and get served like a king but pay $5 in tips you are a fucking cuck lord

Tipping isn't expected here in Australia but often in restaurants it's common.
There are many jobs that include dealing with peoples shit all day that don't get any tips.
Surely there should be other reasons for tipping in countries that don't have a horrible minimum wage

>yes if you pay for a $70 plate and get served like a king

I didn't say anything about being served like a king. Waitress takes order. Waitress brings plates to table. Waitress fucks off. It's the same amount of work in any restaurant. Just because it's some overpriced garbage doesn't mean the table monkeys get more tip.

Higher standards, if you go to a fancy restaurant you don't expect to see greasy "Table monkey"

Sorry, I might have exagerated, I actually only make about $450,000

But I'm starting to buy some apparments so I'm hoping to break the $500k this year, it's a little hard since I have to also pay a maintenance guy and property manager but as the market continues to crash I'll be able to buy more properties.
In another 20 years I hope to be making about $300k a year with my passive income and maybe I'll just go be a adjunct professor.

But tell me more about this air traffic controller gig that you're having so much fun with.

its called a gratuity not a tip
fucking retard woman
In your fucking welfare freeshit socialist world you won't get zero tip because the bill would be zero dollars. and you'd be eating nothing.

be thankful for what you get, the countless times you get tipped $100 from some rich lonely faggot for a $2 coffee more than makes up for the boomer that was short on change or thinks your meal is too fucking expensive.

Attached: MpMOM31.jpg (768x1024, 189K)

The whole "work for tips" thing would be considered exploitation where I live. Retards get a fixed amount on their paycheck, well enough to live, but there's nothing stopping you from tipping, but no one tips unless the work is way above average because there's no reason to (tipping can also be considered rude because you are essentially calling them poorfags worth nothing but crumbs). It's like tipping a waiter would be like tipping a taxi driver for driving well, which is retarded.

>Higher standards, if you go to a fancy restaurant you don't expect to see greasy "Table monkey"

So I am expected to pay more because the table monkey is wearing a suit instead of khakis and flair? Please fuck off.

Nope.

>I'm buying commercial real estate and the only things I have to do are hire a single property manager and pay Frank to fix some pipes
Real convincing.

The only cuck is you for tipping lmao

If you're paying $70 for a plate and have to consider whether or not you should leave a $15 tip than you're too poor to be there in the first place.
Go back to your cuckshed and stop pretending to be rich.

I always tip anyone that handles my food. Don't fuck with people handling your food.

Yea, I worked behind a cash register in a huge store before, unfortunately you can't exactly tip these people.
I think it's like the guy above said, it shouldn't be expected but I like to make them feel appreciated.

No, but $0 is. Get a better job if you think otherwise.

Think what you want, doesn't make you less of a cuck.

Ah yes, when faced with a question they don't like, they attack the questioner. Nigger mentality.

seething wagie

Don't these people already get salary? Why do you americans tip them? That's basically paying twice for what their job is worth. Do you also tip trades workers, your bank manager, the FedEx guy or a gamestop attendant?

Not American but I thought the whole point of tipping was to make up for the fact that these people make minimum wage which isn't even enough to live on?

As someone who actually owns real estate I can tell you from firsthand experience that it's a pain in the ass to buy property that you plan to live in yourself, never mind all of the bullshit of starting a company just to rent apartments.

At best you're just some early 20s college student with aspirations to be an engineer. Real engineers don't just say "I'm an engineer", they talk about their specific field and the types of projects they work on. I know this because I have friends who are actually engineers, they certainly don't make nearly as much money as I do though they do get to enjoy the benefits of a 9-5 job.

It's like you just googled "how to sound like a successful person on the internet" except you didn't actually google anything, you just started talking out of your ass. It's very obvious.

But that's their problem, no one forced them to drop out highschool, not get specialized education on a community college or something like that. These people are earning what their work is worth. Minimum wage exists for a reason, it's the minimum you need to live, not just an arbitrary value, so that's not an excuse either.

Yeah I have no idea, like I said I'm not from America
I was basically told that minimum wage isn't enough to live on and that they rely on tips to survive while they study for the job they actually want

Also, by law, States with minimum wages have to fill the gap between their low hourly wage and minimum wage. Most people don't report their tips so they get both

This. You're not making 450k as a standard engineer. If you had a better title, you would've mentioned it given your ego stroking nature. This guy probably works in an office for 40k a year

$0 on a $65 bill is an acceptable tip, it's a reminder that you're not entitled to extra money for simply doing your job. Also if you absolutely must have more money then there is a variety of other professions.

You were friendly and professional? You're already paid to be. That's called a job/working in the service/retail industry.

You were prompt and checked on your guests? You're already paid to do this. This is a responsibility of your employment.

You don't deserve anything beyond what your employer pays you. You're not entitled to extra money from patrons because "reasons".

Your job is not hard, and even if it were this also entitles you to nothing.

Attached: 1483873961360.png (368x469, 287K)

That's the excuse of every minimum wage worker all around the world tho, in reality they are managing their money like retards, buying the latest iphone in installments and shit like that.

Is this really what fags on b/ reply to? A fucking tip thread? Why is retarded op spamming this dumbass thread and why are retards so easy to reply. Fucking dead ass place

get a real job you entitled cunt

That depends on the service. If all of the meals came to the table in correctly the drinks were left empty and everything was a long time coming then yeah probably. If she was a rockstar all and the drinks were maintained, the meals came out quickly and hot then no maybe it’s not so fair.

^

You re lucky you get a tip at all.
That attitude is easy to notice and is why I'd go no fucks about you or you pity ass job. Go back to school or work up in better labor field. Dont fucking cry because you expect people to give you extra free money on the side of you earning money. I did restaurants for 10 years. I know they can be hard. But that's why I decided to make a change. I got a better job in a trade and started making a living and having a family.
What are you going to do with that extra couple bucks that you couldnt have done by simply being more productive.

Attached: 1579628139780.gif (320x600, 119K)

Yeah but we need the latest iphone for work so..,

s-shut up!

Fuck that Pierre sounds like a French fruitcake and he wouldn’t get a goddamn red cent from me. But if Shaniqua is rocking them booty shorts with no panties she’s getting a tip and a half.

Depends on the service. $5 is probably what she earned.

$5 is acceptable no matter the bill. They didn't work for shit, they are only bringing stuff to your table. If you want to tip more than that, tip the fucking cooker, not the waiter. Their job isn't hard or stressful and requires no skill whatsoever.

What's being served like a king? Are going to tell me jokes, suck my dick or something like that? lmao, a waiter is a waiter no matter the place you are on.
>b-but the fancy clothing
That your boss paid for?

I tipped a mechanic at a bike shop the other day because he went above and beyond and way undercharged me for that sort of work. It’s a tacky poor/euro thing to do to not tip on excellent service.

Yes, $0.00 is also acceptable.

BTW zoomer server here, and fuck you for making us look greedy. Cunt.

Respect.

I think so. A customer is a customer. Love your staff but also love the customer base.

Here I saved this from the lsat time you posted this pasta

Attached: why you should never tip.jpg (125x97, 2K)

I GOT A TIP:

Start fucking ignoring this copypasta shit and let it 404 out.

Fuck, you are all so goddamn lame.

I like this person. “Adjunct professor” efing cool in my book.

If you are surviving on tips you fucked in life

No. Minimum $13 on that bill, preferably $15+.

That's a nice sentiment from either a position of ignorance. It has no basis in the real world.

When you go to a restaurant, you pay for the food. When you tip, you pay for the service. If you don't want any waiters, don't eat out.

I hope you enjoy your self-imposed shitty service

"It's a square, not a rectangle."
I have some bad news for you, bud

When you can't think of a good response so you resort to saying "Well you're wrong because you're upset," you don't sell your own position, regardless of whether or not the person is upset.

Except minimum wage is widly regarded as lower than a living wage. Not only that, but many people in the customer service industry are trying to support themselves through college, so that's two arguments of bad faith.

When tipping became normalized, employers used that an excuse in places where tips are reported to pay less than minimum wage, with tips being considered part of your income. This isn't universally true, mind you

Many waiters have to report their tips as income, and some restaurants pay under minimum wage and only comp the rest if you make under. So you're paying for the service in the tip, not the meal. Minimum wage isn't a living wage. Being out of touch doesn't make you right.

You'd have to leave a tip

That's a lovely thought, but why are you punishing the employees for the sins of the establishment? If you don't like tipping, go to a location that doesn't accept tips.

The millennial's response is to cry and post a picture/video on the internet about how rough her life is? She wouldn't want to do anything to better her situation?

Sounds about right.

Explain the ignorance? Being a server is not meant to be a career goal, it is a job to get by as you better yourself. I have a culinary degree. I worked in restaurants for 10 years while I got my business degree. Now I work with restaurants and foodservice distributors to make the service industry better. If I just stayed working in the restaurant I would be begging for that extra $5 tip, too. But I worked to make my life better without having to beg.

Stop being a cunt and be grateful for whatever you get, tipping is not mandatory you whiny millennial idiot. If the effort was put forth by the waiter/waitress you will get the tip you deserve most of the time and if not why bitch about it? move on with your fucking day.

Even in those states, if they don't hit minimum wage with tips, the employer has to make up the difference.

If they can't live off it, they need to find another job or stop trying to live above their means.

No way, it should be way lower, like a couple crusty pennies and a used condom

>shitty food
Ohh the waiter was so helpful in fixing it I ought to give them a big tip
>good food
Ohh the waiter is great I should give them a big tip
That money should be going to the cook, all you do is bring the food to the table

OK congrats there bro on your $450k a year, not everybody has the ability to make that kind of money. Stop being a fucking autist about it and show some compassion for people who can't / don't make that kind of money.

Spend less than you earn, its that easy, that's how I live my neet lifestyle getting tons of government hand outs

And i'll be enjoy christmas with my homies, smoking pot and not worrying about money either. You sound salty about your life

Attached: Y3RJwwI.png (513x597, 117K)

ahahahahaha i'm a server/bartender and i guarantee i make more than you.. i work on an island so i speak to beautiful women/make money every day

You know speaking doesn't include
>what do you want
A fuzzy navel
>ok here ya go

I would rather tip the chef, infront of the waiter if possible. The waiter does minimal of the work anyways. Upset that your do almost nothing job is too much? Upset that your not cooking the meals and taking the risk of giving them shit food? Upset that none of the responsibility falls on you if anything goes wrong? Fuck that. They dont deserve tips.

If you didnt waste all your time bitching about not getting tipped on social media and tried to get regular wages for servers and food cucks...

ITT: Poorfags and poorfags larping as high income makers

Why are you punishing the customers for the sins of the establishment?

It's a chicken and egg problem, but the most important thing is to be recognized as a problem, so it can be changed. No one should be begging for part of their salaries.

>If the effort was put forth by the waiter/waitress you will get the tip you deserve most of the time
as someone who used to work for tips when they were younger, this is not true.

I tip a single dollar (two dollars MAX) any restraunt I happen to patronize

Is wishing OP a painful death considered acceptable for him posting this stale cancerous bait YET AGAIN?

Attached: 1582445671108.gif (500x377, 205K)

The best way to deal with OP is the same as for all attention-seeking children.
Ignore him. Or, more likely, her.

According to the service from 10%-20%
But never less
Bitches have to eat yk?

Attached: thumb.jpg (70x70, 3K)

What a strange thing to be trolling about. You motherfuckers don't go to restaurants.

>nobody tipped me the entire 10 years I worked in restuarants

There is no living off minimum wage.

Five dollars is an excellent tip, especially if it's in cash.

>make your employer pay for it
okay i'll use my mind control to force people to do what i want

>$20 bill
>10 feet
Exaggerating to improve your argument, and in doing so, invalidating it.

Tip 2/3 USD in cash and it's all good.

>Why cash? You want to get out of paying taxes!

No, taxes have nothing to do with it.
Card/electronic tips don't *supplement* the employee's regular wage. They *substitute* it.

Example: If tipped minimum is 5/hr, and regular minimum is 10/hr, then what actually happens is this:
>business gives the employee 5 USD for every hour they worked
>then tips are added in
>if this totals to over the equivalent of 10 USD an hour, stop here
>if this totals to less than the equivalent of 10 USD per hour, pay them more until they're at 10/hr

So the first 5 USD that worker gets tipped in every hour doesn't actually give them extra money; it just lets the business save 5 USD on their wages.
By contrast, if you give the worker 2 dollars cash, that goes in their pocket, and it's done. If that's the ONLY tip they receive that hour, they just made 12 total for that hour.
So if you actually want the worker to get more money (which is, y'know, the entire point of tipping?), tip cash. It doesn't have to be a lot, and it doesn't have to be based on the bill. 2 or 3 USD, in cash, for every order, would make a world of difference.

>burger problems
kek

Why am i having to make up the mistakes of the workplace? Am i their boss to be paying for their wage? Somehow businesses got away with that shit, and put the responsibility on the customer to pay what the boss should owe. No, fuck right off, with serving 10 people, if each person tips 10, you get an extra 100 that day, making your job skyrocket into double what you should be earning. For what? Just because it got normalized doesn't mean i agree with it.

>Except minimum wage is widly regarded as lower than a living wage
Bullshit, it's enough to eat, pay rent in a cheap place and there's still some bucks left, more than you need to survive. Shouldn't have dropped out highschool if you wanted anything other than that.
>but many people in the customer service industry are trying to support themselves through college
Then they already have enough cash. Want more? Ask your parents. Also, not my problem.

found the wagie

That's next level cope right there

Waiters/waitresses itt: tell me how much you make on average with and without tips and I'll tell you if it's bullshit

but they work at them

Do you burgers also tip the retards at McDonalds? lmao

it would be a painful process, but if people stop tipping, people will quit such service jobs. employers would then be forced pay normally.

waiters are too dumb to unionate lol

It's not good, but you shouldn't punish the employee for the problems of the establishment. More often than not, people tip low or don't tip at all, meaning it's much more likely people get underpaid.
As a side note, $100 would put a 40-hr national minimum wage employee at a third again normal wage - assuming they're getting paid minimum wage, which is often untrue for jobs where tipping is expected. Even less on a state-by-state basis.

This is a dispute of facts. I can't stop you from being misinformed.
You're also making assumptions about the people working those jobs. There are multiple reasons a person could be working service. Injury, disability, lack of jobs in the field, etc etc etc.
That assumes your parents have money. What's your next excuse for being an asshole? "Get better parents?" This self-entitled, ignorant behavior is out of touch. With student expenses being what they are, there's no way a minimum wage individual could put themselves through college.
You believe what you believe, and it's clear I'm not going to change that.

First, many people need to use service industry jobs to get them towards a career path, and current wages don't support that in the slightest.
Second, many people can't advance for one reason or another - often reasons outside of their control. They shouldn't be denied a living wage - which minimum wage is not - just because they're disadvantaged.

The employees have no means to change that. I highly recommend looking for restaurants that don't allow for tips if you want to boycott tipping.

I don't work in the service industry, nor have I ever. I try, however, not to be an asshole to people that do.
That said, "haha, this disadvantaged person made reasonable arguments and I don't have a counterpoint so I have to make fun of them" would be a pretty bad response if I did.

I don't tip and what they make is none of my business. No one tips me were I work and my pay isn't great either so fuck these entitled cunts.

>If you don't want any waiters, don't eat out.

It's almost as if people don't read what they reply to.

Whoa. That's a lot to be tipped when you shouldn't be tipped at all. That's for your employer to do no the customers.

He won't be a waiter if he could actually read.

You act like the only non skilled job anyone can do it's being a waiter. I hope you tip janitors, cookers, dishwashers and the people that clean your shit at the streets as well, because they get equal or worse pays. You hypocrite wagie.

Yes because you are getting 12€+/h ...

Any bill under $10 on my wallet is an acceptable tip. If I don't have any, sorry but you are out of luck, better beg somewhere else.

"Aw you are still a waitress, relying on tips? If you dont fucking like the tips get a real goddamn job."

In most U.s restaurant that is lowish. But still a tip. $12 is what she could only get by kissing ass and a fast good kitchen

Arguing that one person should have higher wages is not the same as arguing that another person shouldn't. Those individuals should also get paid better. Attacking someone's character is not the same as disproving their point, and you exemplify that that's all you're doing by insulting me with an insult that is wrong twice.

I'm always amazed at how ironic a single sentence can be, but here we are.

>He won't be a waiter if he could actually read
>He won't be a waiter
>He won't
I take it back, this is more ironic.

I bet you don't report your tips to the IRS like you're supposed to.

That means you, and everyone like you, are defrauding me, the average (and ever-shrinking) American taxpayer.

Is it not enough that I've got to support all the fat cats on Wall Street that are looting my retirement accounts, that I have to support all you communist freeloaders as well?

If you've got a problem with how much you get paid, there is exactly one person you should be complaining to about that; and it's not me.

I love pasta

Nice! You deserve all the pride that comes from being a professional. Do you strive for work/life balance? I gave up on having a family and shit about a year ago, but I don't know if it's even worth it. Young medfag here btw. Cheers Yea Forumsro.

You're miserable because you missed the point of life, your stressful job is awful because a computer should be doing it soon and much better and cheaper and you know that you wasted your life. Don't blame poor people for the shitty misery you've constructed for yourself.

Waiters should be paid better, but that money shouldn't be coming out of anyone's pockets other than their bosses. If they want better wages, better fight for it. Literally works on every other country other than the US. What you are defending is akin to slavery, the boss pays next to nothing to maintain their workers and they need to beg to even survive. I don't know what's wrong with you americans and why you defend that, but it's retarded and I just don't support it.

You have a voice, but not tipping isn't the way to do it. Go to places that have no-tip policies. You're only punishing employees by not tipping at places without such policies in place.

the US should go back to paying thier employees like they did before prohibition. The restaurant industry basically scammed everyone since.
funny enough if you demand change theres a bunch of articles about how tipping is racist lol

Go to college if you dont like 7.7% tip

tipping became a thing during prohibition to keep establishments afloat. It should have been dropped when prohibition was.

Never tip again . burger robot debuts soon!

Attached: CgBxSeUW4AAI7d8.jpg (1024x730, 122K)

If you keep tipping nothing will ever change, so you are also hurting them. They should be the ones trying to find jobs at these places, forming an union or protesting. I'm not perpetuating this culture.

ultimately, it won't work out in America, this 'no tipping' thing. If the workers unionize, they'll gladly make concessions in terms of customer service by simply hiring mexicans who won't organize and using kiosks for all ordering, or they'll raise the price because god forbid their profit should ever go down instead of up.

I only pay a good tip when I get good service. If the waiter was being a piece of shit then they're lucky I pay for their meal let alone tip them. Your meal goes toward the expenses of the restaurant and the wages of the employees are one of them.

Stop tipping and maybe in 10 years we'll have roomba like machines in their place. Robots that won't mix your orders, won't complain and won't spit on your food if you pay $5 instead of $6.5

Fuck you dude, literally handwaving the responsibility of the employer. No i shouldn't tip because it isn't my responsibility to pay these workers who don't work for me. PERIOD. If they can't do anything about it, it doesn't mean it had to fall on me to make up for it, or the american people. The only tips i support are voluntary tips, and i mean completely voluntary, not tipping because the place says you have to or because you feel bad or because it's the nice thing to do. I don't give my money to the homeless for the same reason, not my responsibility. Period. They could have any sob story. It's not my problem. Let the charities take care of it.

What about the places that enforce tipping? How do you feel about that? Where it becomes part of the price and the only thing the customer can do is raise it.

OMEGALUL

If it works in every other country, of course it will work on america. There's only one thing you do that we don't, you tip. I dunno if it started because someone wanted to belittle a waiter by showing off or something but you should stop.

BASED BURGERBOT, PLEASE HEAR MY PRAYER
Save me from the Waitnigger bandits who spit in your food. Save me from black burger flippers who rub burger buns on the floor on purpose. pls exterminate all waitniggers gloriois burgerbot

These tips are usually cheaper than 10%

Simple. Don't eat there. Any shithole that tries to force tipping should be left to acrue debt and go bankrupt.

Missing the point, which is enforced tipping. Even if it was 1% I'd be against it.

Eventually it would apply to all places, because if one place could do it, so can every other one. It's how tipping became a thing in the first place.

I'm a bartender and I still think most of the servers are entitled lazy whores.

Attached: 1482042420596.png (810x688, 455K)

>hmmm the food is great today
>let's tip the FUCKING WAITER
are you burgers retarded or something

I've literally worked as a door to door salesman, customer service in a warehouse/outlet, call center for a car insurance claims team dealing with valuations and total losses, a chef and i'm currently training to be a (legal) barrister.

I got tips as a chef because the kids front of house were bringing in so much per week and the exec head chef kicked off.
We literally got the owner of the company sit everyone in the place down and say he doesn't think chefs should get tips because he worked as a waiter and likes the hatred.
Only half of that room laughed.
Within a week 3 chefs handed in their notice.
Not because of the tips, because he was such an arrogant faggot.
The rest of the chefs got raises to keep them there and 10% of the tips.

The problem America has is the greedy employers.
All they would have to do is stop employers taking tips into account and force a consistent minimum wage at the end of every month. THEN tips get added on as a bonus.
Fortunately that's what happens where I live, tips still get taxed here but the tips don't get deducted from the wage, which is the stupidest shit ever.

It's not tip, tip is meant to be gratuity. The correct term is "burger tax".

Easy, that is 5$ too much.

Here in France, you don't have to tip.
If you want, you can, but nobody ask for.

Not in America since they are entitled to them.

>be american
>be against "forced tips"
>order some burgers
>waiter brings it
>tips because it was a nice service, well delivered and everything
>ends up paying $22 instead of $19 because $1 was the "forced" but hidden tip that pays their salary +$2 so they don't get spit on their burgers
>claps

Have you so little shame that, IN ADDITION TO working, you agree that you should also have to beg for a (povery-line) living?

People with no shame, who will degrade themselves for money, are called WHORES.

That is what you have been turned into. In fact you've become so debased that you think that everyone should cooperate with everyone else to keep the whole system that way, FOREVER.

As usual, the burden for fixing the system falls to the lowest people in it - the tip-enslaved workers. But if you want to fix it, the reality is that you have to do it, however hard it is. Fight for your rights. Demand proper wages. Unionize. Write to your representatives. Refuse to accept tips, and tell people why - tell them to give it to a welfare charity, and think about the situation while they do it. Above all, don't blame your problems on anyone else, and don't try to out-shame your patrons that have even less than you (or refuse to be part of your horrid system).

And do it soon. You're at the very edge of obsolescence already.

Yes, a tip is just a symbol of gratitude. Your boss pays your wage, not me.
