>My dad was the cameraman and one of the masterminds behind the hacking of WGN-Tv and PBS broadcasting in 87.
>i wouldn't learn about his past until my late teens. never told anyone but close friends many don't believe me, as i assume many of you reading this wont.
>I'm here to clarify the reason and meaning as told to me by my father.
>Nothing. Just a fun gag that my father and his friends thought would be funny.
> their intention was to startle and scare people.
>No bigger meaning.
>No social satire
> why should you give a shit? i know.
>today i saw a max headroom reference and thought about the legacy that my father left.
>i used to lurk around Yea Forums in the early days. it used to be an amazing place where you could share stories and just fuck around with people anonymously.
> but now it's turned into a porn site for borderline pedophiles.
>my dad was the same age as i am now when he pulled that stunt.
> and i feel as though i have missed out.
>Companies have turned the internet into a shit show
Your spacing gave me cancer, I wont read all of that, kill yourself

I agree with what youre saying. The internet is so sterile you cant as much say one cuss word without violating someones """""safe space"""""" how can someone get offended by the internet? Just shut off your computer. The world is a really bland and overly offended place. To me it seems like people seek out things to get offendes by
>>My dad was the cameraman and one of the masterminds behind the hacking of WGN-Tv and PBS broadcasting in 87. Really cool. An epic hack of the 80's. If not one for All Time. Please forward my regards and congratulations.
not Yea Forums. Just its harder to do shit user with out getting caught. i just wish i could pull a stunt like my dad. the best i can do is hack a website. but even then its so mainstream. what would be the point.
Jack Clark
yeah he's just a basic white dad. you would never would have guessed it was him.
>>My dad was the cameraman and one of the masterminds behind the hacking of WGN-Tv and PBS broadcasting in 87.
haha! you wish.
Lincoln Watson
Iv thought about this from time to time. I believe you user. Tell your pops hes the man.
Henry Jackson
Sadly most of these little fuck faces have no idea what your even talking abt.
Jackson Martinez
What's sad is that people like this think this is what classic Yea Forums was. This is the type of fucking nonsense that was there after 2006, but Yea Forums just used to be balls-out weird before that instead of some festering shithole for pedos and incel alt-right fuckheads.
Came back for the first time since 2013 about 5 days ago, I've been having mental health problems and Yea Forums is kind of my red flag. Before that it was 2009, before that 2007, then 2004.
Daniel Wood
Kind of cool if true, but I have no way to verify what you're saying, so it's essentially pointless. It is a shame things of that nature basically don't happen anymore. Everything is so by the numbers and safe. Shit was wild before people just melted their brains with the internet.
Connor Sanders
>>My dad was the cameraman and one of the masterminds behind the hacking of WGN-Tv and PBS broadcasting in 87.
I was literally watching Doctor Who as a kid when this happened. Scared the shit out of me.
Nicholas Watson
dunno if true, but if it is, cool. Just a couple days ago I was wondering about the whole Max Headroom hack. Figured it was for the lulz, but good to hear confirmation
Ayden Turner
Did your dad bang that chick who appeared in the end of the clip?
William Diaz
> yeah thats what i mean when i say i missed out. like if i try to pull some shit like this today. id get caught. shit you could get away with a lot of shit in the 80s. My dad was a wild card.
Ayden Allen
An old group of friends and I used to call up random numbers and just fuck with people saying we were from the future, or that robots had become sentient and were rampaging and stuff. We were definitely high/drunk, and most of it was retarded, but sometimes we'd get people to bite, and mess with their heads. One guy always recorded the calls, but he died in 2015, and I have no idea where any of that stuff ended up. Probably got thrown away or something. Not exactly hijacking tv signals, but we found ways to entertain ourselves.

> thats the beauty of it. you don't know if i'm lying. plus i don't have any physical proof. altho he did tell me he used scrapped satellites to hack into the frequency. He wasn't the tech guy. and it was a 5 person team. We don't really talk about it much. it was just supposed to be a troll. He's told me he doesn't think about it much.
