You'll get over though. Drivers hate scooter people.

You can chuck it in your river/ ocean

Zero fucks given. Scooter has braking distance comparable to tram, thus it must be treated like tram, especially when someone as heavy as I'm riding it.
Sorry didn't want to break your car door. Next time use mirrors. I have to go, sorry.

Yes. No problem.
It is only 10 kilograms, you can easily swim with it

>No rain protection
I have a water proof outer shell for my motorcycle jacket that rolls/tucks away to the size of a Coke can.

OP is Oliver Tree.

Still it is nasty experience.

Traffic fatalities are up in my part of the world due to the prevalence of SUVs. I'd say the heavier you are, the bigger the blood bouncy ball you would become.

SUV? Super undersized Vehicle?

I bought 2 scooters after gf and I rented spin scooters to ride around the park. Spent $50 for ~1 hour of riding. Didn’t seem worth renting again and Costco had them for $550/each

We use them to go to bars/restaurants and around the park. Wouldn’t want to use it to commute because they’re not fast enough.

> Wouldn’t want to use it to commute because they’re not fast enough.
This can be improved.
8 inch wheels are stable for speed under 40 km/h
12 inch are stable for speeds under 60 km/h

If you have soldering skill, you need to replace capacitors on the input, add resistor in linear circuits, and increase battery voltage. Fooling controller into thinking you have stock voltage might be required.
Or just flash another firmware.

Yeah 40km/h would be nice. I still couldn’t commute because I work in construction. Gf could

We have Segway Ninebot ES4’s. I haven’t really looked into modding them yet. Would rather get the Ninebot Max or similar to mod, that have a rear wheel drive with a true brake.

>Segway Ninebot ES4
Forget about mods.
Those are too fragile. I won't go faster than 20 km/h (speed I can run, sorta) on those, because steering column snaps for no apparent reason (btw, steel part fails, not aluminium, which is really interesting), and folding mechanism is weak.
This scooter is pretty interesting. Out of the box it seems like it is high quality, but when you ride it, at least 500-ish km, you start understanding that nice looks fooled you, and it is not that great.
>Would rather get the Ninebot Max or similar to mod, that have a rear wheel drive with a true brake.
Don't get Ninebot at all.
As for brake, simple fender brake is more than sufficient. I would go for disc or drum only in case you have hills (less rubber wear).

different user, I don't know shit about electric scooters but from looking at previous user's one I'd honestly get one with bigger wheels. That one just looks like it would send me flying the instant I come close to any form of curb or pothole

Yeah, 8 inch doesn't like potholes much.

Yeah. I saw some people saying they weren’t as good as expected quality wise. Part of the reason I bought without getting too crazy into reviews was they are from Costco (amazing return policy).

Lots of hills where I am, so disc or drum preferred.

What brands would you recommend?

How big is the environmental footprint of the battery for one of those things? I hear the footprint for the batteries for electronic cars is massive.

Small. Just 5-ish laptop batteries

electric scoot is tardatious get a electric folding bike.

Depends on where you live in would say.
My city is pretty bike friendly which probably means you coukd use the bike lanes and paths with a scooter.
Been to other places that would suck though because you have to share the road with cars
Keep in mind youat not be allowed to use a powered scooter on anything but motorways

>inside a dry climate-controlled vehicle > being out in the rain with a plastic bag over you

E-bike is garbage.
Useless piece of shit

>Keep in mind youat not be allowed to use a powered scooter on anything but motorways
Shitty laws.

Much rather ride the bus than look like a huge faggot on a scooter, Longboards and cruisers are where its at.

>longboardfag calling out scooterfags
pot

way better than a junk scooter.

KEK scooters exist now to piss off bikers in the bike lanes like bikers piss off drivers on the roads.

>What brands would you recommend?
They all sucks, to be honest.
E-TWOW seems to make best stuff.
But I would wait for nazis to make something, since it became legal in Germany.

I have had a bunch of skateboards too loagboards are meant for travel, but I own three cars so don't really need anything else for transportation

E-bike is pretty retarded idea, just like regular bicycle. It is too big, yet is too small.
Since they are not registered, they are easy target for niggers.
Scooter is small, take it anywhere, nobody would say a fuck. Niggers seethe, because they can't have nice things.
Scooters are universal piss-off divice

what do you think is the highest weight load you can find for E scooters?

100 kilos, but most of them can take 120 kilos no problem.
Thing is, chinks don't calculate anything, and just take random parts and test if it folds under 100 kg, or not. They don't test reliability as shit

yeah, just been looking at the E-TWOW GT and that has an apparent load weight of 125kg

satan maybe

scooters are retarded nigger see's you with a scooter he will knock you right in the face and take it. Scooter is universal sign of I'm a weak little bitch with to much money rob me.

Attached: 1551711315405.jpg (500x491, 28K)

truth

100 kg. At least they were originally designed for this weight.
As for E-TWOW, they have one annoying feature.
Mechanics last 10 000+ km (batteries may die, if they didn't have balancing, they were changing shit a lot since 2012. Early ones had balancing. 2014 ones didn't, 2015+ - idk). But. Everything starting to have play in it, literally after 200-ish km. This of course means rattles and noises. And there is nothing you can do about it. Some weirdos added PTFE washers and bushings everywhere, still squeaked. Some weirdos made precision axles, and poilished them, still squaked.
As for typical failure: folding axle cracks at 1000 km. Can be replaced with M10 (or M12, don't remember) bolt.

If you're handy with wrenches and soldering irons, just buy E-TWOW clone, and replace parts with original E-TWOW once they break.

Nice software.

Attached: 1568903685152.jpg (348x512, 54K)

thanks. it doesn't always work perfectly, though. might even fail on this one.

Attached: 1560998647067.gif (250x250, 106K)

Also, E-TWOW is lighter, has thicker deck (more aluminium), rubber bushings, common bicycle steering ball bearings (so you can replace cups with decent ones), easy to replace electronics, softer suspension...
Good shit, actually, you know. Too bad they want too much money for it. $1000 back in 2013-ish was fine (since it was the only scooter at the time, which looked like Decathlon meme), but in 2k19 when there are cheaper scooters with similar specs, it is unacceptable.

I wonder if it is possible to make scooters in white country with prices comparable to china...

i love you all

the scooter being cheap is an argument made by someone who's only thinking about themselves

arming a whole city with scooters and powering them is NOT is any way even close to cheaper than public transportation

Retard. Scooter consumes less energy, than even fucking train full of people.

for a single person. Last time i checked, there was more than one person in a city. You have serious issues with the engineering of scaling if you seriously think that a city of people on scooters is more energy efficient than a train system

take your brilliant idea up with any city counsel in the entire fucking world. I'll wait for a single person to be willing to try implementing it

Train systems are actually not that efficient, as they seem. They waste tons of energy by having stops.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Energy_efficiency_in_transport
Scooter, in real life, my own calculations based on capacity of battery and range, is just 10-15 w-h per kilometer. Which is pretty close to wiki data.
As for train, it is hard to calculate, because I have no access to meter. They claim 90 joules/meter you can expect. Which is like twice as much
>take your brilliant idea up with any city counsel in the entire fucking world. I'll wait for a single person to be willing to try implementing it

kek

This thread is of interest to kek it seems.

trains have their own right of way and can be easily automated
they have their place

Nah. Passenger trains are quite useless. They must go, sooner or later.
Imagine converting subway into designated kick scooter lanes.

why?
you shouldn't replace heavy commuting services with something that is at best more of a last-mile option

Attached: autism.jpg (465x584, 71K)

Average speed of most in-city public transport is 10-30 km/h. Scooter average speed is 15-20+, depending on scooter and ridestyle. Batteries are advancing.
This would increase amount of people transported by subway infrastructure too.
Those 1,5 anons with disability can have minivans with drivers for transport paid from freed up taxpayer money (maintaining light in tunnel is cheaper, than subway train).

Range of current scooters is roundabout 20-30 kilometers. This would be sufficient for most cityfags.

are all the m65 scooters sold on craigslist hacked ones stolen from the street? seems to good to be true for them to be sold for $100

If they have folding mechanism, they are probably not rentals.
If they are locked - those are niggered

Yup. But they are there
>illegal to be over 16 and ride your bike on the sidewalk
>illegal to rude your bike on roads without a license
Good thing they don't enforce the first rule

Meh.
I have my own car.
Good thing my NEET ass never has to go anywhere

Most of those sidewalk laws can be tricked. They always say you may use sidewalks, if right part of the road is dangerous, and you can go full retard claiming it is dangerous, because glass, shit and dirt is there, and it would be really painful if I do the barrel roll there, while having bus with no brakes behind me.
Not in every country though.
>illegal to rude your bike on roads without a license
Can we have such laws?

>, if right part of the road is dangerous
You exploit the law here, because in 99.9999% of cases they don't specify what is dangerous.
upd

youtube.com/watch?v=gyAtT0sJMBE

Yes, this is how you ride a scooter.
Fuck everyone, this is YOUR road.

They don't enforce that particular law here.
They don't really enforce the license law either. By license I mean a number plate on the bike, not a drivers license

Japan?

US?
Kek
One solder blob is enough to change that.

Attached: download (18).jpg (241x210, 11K)

USA. Yes.
Always keep in mind that in the states we have laws going from the federal level all the way to your neighborhood HOA telling which 5 colors you're allowed to puck from to paint your house.

Here's another nice little tidbit of legal fuckery.
In my city it is explicitly illegal to use rain barrels or any other system to store rain water for things like watering all the dumbass grass. The city claimes ownership of that rain water as "it will eventually flow into one of the city owned or leased reservoirs..."
Let that sink in for a minute.

When I paybmy property taxes there is an added anal fee of several hundred dollars.
It's colloquially known as the gutter tax. The city takes the square footage of your property and determinea the % that doesn't soak up water (your entire roof area, any decks, patios l, or porches. The driveway, any walkway, or any other paved surface, etc and levy a fee based on how much water that drains off your property will be going down the street gutter.

HOAs are basically gated communities without gates. I don't get this. It has no benefit.

US honestly became a shithole, way before I even moved there I guess. Needs a nuke desu.

We no longer have a HOA
No one gave a fuck about it but a couple salty old fucks who thought the hispanics were gonna paint their house like a taco or something and wanted to maintain the house color crap.
The HOA went away and the hispanics all still have the same neutral colored houses. In fact the only one who went dull color mode was the white lady next door with a bright teal house.

>white lady next door with a bright teal house.
Shit, I will always associate teal house with farm toilet (idk how it is called, basically a pit with shit in it), because in my shithole it was painted in Makita teal color.

Outhouse is the most common term here for a sheltered latrine.

And yeah, she painted her house what is basically a slightly darker shade of making green.
Bet that old white coot had a fit when he seen her house, especially since he knew she was white. She probably didn't to spite him, actually. She never liked that old fag because he would report everyone for everything
