I used to ride my father's bike on breaks from college. Just a cruiser, not some crotch rocket. One of the only things I've ever enjoyed in life.

Oldfag here. Put around 100,000 miles on 8 or 9 bikes over a 20 year period. It was fun but I mostly quit a couple of years ago. Very fortunate to never have an incident. Not riding like a total retard helps.

I think I've read something like 50% of mc accidents are alcohol related. Another big cause is entering into a turn at eccesive speed and failing to make the curve. Riding sober and avoiding excessive speed removes a large share of risk. Wearing good riding gear with a ff helmet and spine armor and riding boots can help as well.

Kind of a pointless statistic because there aren't the same amount of cars and bikes.

Show us a statistic about percentage of collisions that ended in serious injury or death.

When it's the biker's fault, yea. Fucking up a turn is pretty common because it's deceptive how slow you need to take a turn or off-ramp on a bike. Most of those are just bike drops/skips though and might end with some bruises and road rash.
