A friend is developer on a part of KDE. The problem is that many companies use GNOME based systems from 10 years ago. Suse is targeting them. The problem, none of the heavy GNOME users will use Suse anyway. They stay with CentOS or even shittier systems.

When I switched permanently to XFCE around 4.10 and saw the screen tearing I was like WTF is this shit?
Then I found Compton and fixed the screen tearing and had tasteful and light weight drop shadows too.
Then found devilspie and things were really good.
