Quick math: 47173 (US suicides in 2017) / 2,813,503 (US deaths in 2017) = 1.68% of deaths are due to suicide.

Even if it could be shown that suicides mostly occur due to overpopulation-related causes, it wouldn't be very significant. The rates are rising, though, so maybe in 100 years a quarter of the population will an hero each year and the world will be saved.
