Started in 1996

I did. And I miss it.

Yup, simpler days in Netscape it seemed

trick question, there was no such thing as
>browse
back then. nice try jews

Yes. AOL dial up. Asking for everyone’s asl in chat rooms.

A little

I miss those days

I remember in the late 90s my friends roommate would meet girls in local chat rooms and get them to come over. They were pretty gross, but so was he

Yes. Had a zip disk to save all my ladyboy pics on. Each one took at least 15 min to download so they were like gold.

I remember that. You would click on a pic and come back 15 minutes later and find out the girl was wearing a bikini

No.

Oh yeah. Back before it was even called the internet.

On a 300 baud modem. Real oldfag stuff.

Yes many a pedo exploited us boys and girls alike through aol chat rooms. Those were the days

Did I fuck. I had shitty dial up internet that took 3 hours to load a jpeg.

That was the worst

Of course.

If you didn't you truly missed out

anyone got an audio clip of what those baud modems sounded like when they connected? I'm hearing it now over my tinnitus in my head

Yup. I remember the days before advertising. Back when you received a .exe file in your email and opened it. I remember lycos and alta vista, and ask jeeves
And that big annoying purple cunt- bonzai buddy?
IRC java applets with that little textbox in the middle of the screen for your name

I still have my original Lycos email address from the 1990s.

I remember surfing the web in 1994. Rotten.com and a lot of geocities-type shit. What else? Yahoo Chatrooms were weird, Internet Explorer sucked ass, blue screens of death all of the time, and big ass monitors.

ICQ, Winamp, Napster then Kazaa and all that shit
Websites with .midi's playing in the background and altered cursors

In 1999 with 14400 baud dialup modem. There was a LAN with 50 PCs or so. I will also never forget first time playing Doom or Duke3d by dialup. Or ptogramming first sound/"graphics" in QuickBasic. Or transferring files in Norton Commander via an LPT port...

I started on DOS 5.0 and Win 3.1
I remember always switching into DOS cause all the best games were on it, including doom on floppy disk
I also remember making my first website which was called The Construction Yard and was a fan page for Red Alert then later evolved into content for several Westwood games including .ini file downloads to cheat, and wallpapers and shit

In 1999 we had a 56k by then, why were you on ancient tech in 1999?

Check these out fellow tinnitus bro

Because of exUSSR, heh. And it was really expensive. I can still remember paying 50-100$ (which was a crazy amount of money in a country with 30-50$ monthly salaries) for downloading a full set of CDs of some ancient Linux Mandrake distro. We also still have ADSL with speeds like 4/0.5 mbit in the majority of areas. Last public dialup ISP line in my country has been decommed only 5 years ago.

I didn't have access to the Internet until 2005/2006.

Based bro and very much part of number 2 coming up before college.

Yes.
Fucking Geoshitties and slow, dial-up connections everywhere.
IRC was ok, I guess.

Doom LAN parties on the holiday weekends while at college. Man, the memories of delivery pizza, Mountain Dew runs, and rushing towards any PC lab to d/l to game to start the weekend...

Rotten.com and Stileproject... among other things...

I remember Bianca's Smut Shack, if that means anything to you

I did but it was too late: 1999
