Schools don't provide proper mental health screening and counseling to their students. Mental health screening and well being checking should be a major part of education and learning. Even more so in public schools where the majority of children come from low income or impoverished homes.

Also parents and siblings and students need to be taught and showed the dangers of stigma relating to mental illness. Most children would never volunteer their issues for fear of being made fun of or looked down on. We need to make these kids feel that there is a future for them and that they can over come their mental illness.
