Thoughts on Star Wars?

Honestly the reason people keep coming back to Star Wars is simply Nostalgia mixed with a great tv show and like 1 good recent movie that isn't even star wars in the usual sense (Rogue One)
Otherwise t would've died off partway through the prequels and we'd be spared the Last Jedi and whatever the fuck happens the next 4 movies

it's a multimillion dollar fanfic. hamil hates it, lucas hates it, most who like the EU and kotor hates it. there's no band of heroes anymore it's just Rey, poe vanished into the oether after vii finn followed suit in viii. the only characters they are really pushing are (from my perspective) captain phasma, kylo ren, and rey. the muh strong woman, the edgy redemption, and the mary sue

Pick a character. Pick a location. Pick anything that makes the world make sense. They somehow introduced compelling characters that went fucking NO where.

There is a very serious disconnect in cohesive plot between the LucasArts and Disney eras, Disney is ruining Star Wars.

Then somehow the baby had to be aborted and instead they evaded capture and she was forced into raising the kid, then the ghost of anakin appear and gave her a crystal that purified the kid, said that He was never evil, and that Kylo was also his son, so then Kylo and jedi bitch fought and she kiled him and the black dood watched it all and did nothing when she won he walked up and said shiiiieeet...took the crystal and ran, the baby lost the jedi powers and then he put the crystal in a ship engine and flew the fuck away with some other shit.

The Last Jedi had the most potential to create a real background for the SW Disneyverse but did nothing.

I used to be a huge Star Wars fan and even started reading the new books and comics because there wasn't a lot of catching up need to keep up to date with canon and I thought the new Thrawn book by Timothy Zahn was excellent.

The Force Awakens was a fine movie but they fucked up the one opportunity to have the old cast reunited, but Han is dead, Luke is dead and Carrie Fisher is dead irl.

I thought Rogue One was an excellent epic adventure truly made for the fans by a fan.

Honestly, The Last Jedi fucked Star Wars for me. Possibly forever. The Rian Johnson had no love for the franchise and just decided to fuck everything up because he could. His disdain for established lore and even the preceding film was obvious with the constant repetition of the line "let the past die". The man along with Kathleen "the Force is female" Kennedy managed to kill the golden goose, and Star Wars is loosing money. The movie disrespected the fanbase and nobody is buying toys or went to see Soylo.

Soylo also fucking ruined Han's origin and made Lando Calrissian, the most suave ladykiller in the galaxy into a literal pansexual who fucks his annoying BLM robot.

They let EA, the most hated company in gaming retain the exclusive rights to make games, instead of licensing individual games, and all they've mad are shit mobile games and two colossal AAA failures and shitstains on the Battlefront name. Disney is so fucking retarded that they managed to lose money off of the most profitable franchise to have ever existed.

I am looking forward to Clone Wars season 7 though, but I'll pirate it because fuck Disney and their streaming site. The show is extremely good and surprisingly dark and gritty, with complex themes for a supposed kids show on Cartoon Network. I hope they manage to retain that, because most of Rebels was just Disney-esque family friendly, no deaths bullshit and the show mostly sucked.

It honestly red-pilled me on how shit Disney, and how a their monopoly must be prevented.

Fuck Disney for giving that asshole Rian Johnson his own trilogy set in the Old Republic (probably) so that he can ruin the franchise even more.

First six movies are stellar/creative marvels of their time and even right now, they are landmarks in cinematic achievements. The current three are creatively bankrupt watered down bastardizations made to impress a braindead audience that doesn't know real entertainment.

Mainly because the 1st was to bring back the feel of the old serial adventures and the rest were long advertisements to sell toys.

I'm 34 and I have never seen a single Star Wars movie from start to finish.

Only 1 through 6 exist for me. The others are Disney Trash.

First three were great! Nothing like that had been seen before.
The prequels, while not the best, we're no where near as bad as some people make them out to be.
Clone Wars was surprisingly good for a cartoon.

The Last Jedi was just horrible. It was The Empire Strikes Back in reverse.The only half way decent thing in it was the fight between Lukes and Kylo. The rest was drivel.
I saw all the Star Wars movies in theaters within a week of their opening. I've seen A New Hope 300+ times. I will NOT see the next movie in a theater. I will NOT see it on pay per view. They will be lucky if I watch it when it comes on local TV. I will not support the "New Movies" by purchasing any associated toys or memorabilia. I believe every copy of these movies should be gathered up and, like A Star Wars Christmas, dumped in the deepest part of the ocean and let everyone pretend they never existed.
