Let's talk about just dogs for a second. Dogs think in packs, they do not think of you as a human, they do not think of another dog as a dog, they think of them all as a "pack". Do I have to spell it out for you that communication between species can be muddy and things can get lost in translation? I bring up primates especially because they are our closest relatives and we can still fail to communicate with them on fundemental levels.
