You should feel intrigued, albeit very, very cautious. Verify that they're a legitimate research firm and that they're actually who they say they are and ensure that your privacy as a subject in their academic study will be protected. Only answer questions as they are presented, and don't tell them anything they don't ask for. Ensure they are based out of a country or US state where lolicon/ hardcore pornography are legal and that you will be appropriately compensated for your time.

While it would be pleasant to have that study done to prove things once and for all, it is entirely too personally risky to participate.

they're not asking me to be a subject to it or anything. but they seem to think that it's bad that governments want to ban it without having any evidence that it even leads to harm. and they even seem to believe in the possibility that less children get abused because of 2d loli. i doubt 2d has any effect one way or the other, but the org seems genuine about their intentions...

The study would not go well. I wouldn't participate unless it was completely anonymous. Like on-line survey taken over a VPN from a machine that wouldn't run flash or java or any other scripting language. Even then I might be kind of cagey about how I answered some questions. But that wouldn't work for the people doing the survey because not only would it be questionable because it's a survey of 'self identified' but there'd be no way for them to know I didn't create 20 identities and troll them to turn their survey into a Yea Forums joke.

well, you are right it would likely take multiple studies. and currently there are no studies. or maybe one half assed danish study that was never translated to english. so it would be good to have more. only the people who pay to have research done isn't going to come anywhere near us.

There is some organization that studies pedos and they basically came out saying it wasn't recommended for pedos to have any "outlets" all. Can't remember who it was anymore.
