I used to watch lots of live streamers. Even donated money sometimes.
Then about 6 months ago, I actually sat down and had some self-examination. I thought I was happy when watching livestreamers. But I really wasn't. I was just more miserable.
I gave up livestreamers altogether. Stopped reading about them constantly and watching them. It was hard at first. But after a week I felt more driven in doing something with my own life. I felt a freedom upon me.
Stop wasting your life with these cyber beggars. Their forced drama and fake bullshit does not hide the fact that they are all horrible and selfish people with no future and a sad existence when the fame inevitably dries up.
I'm doing an essay on this issue, the idea of the internet panum e circesum beginning to make slaves of the streamer. Should link once I’m done
not the user you replied to but yes pleas do. I for one would like to see what you have wrote on this.
diff user but I'd be interested in seeing this as well
also, my own thoughts: these types of streamers remind me of poor/broke celebrities that have more time to individually respond to people in chat and/or who donate, which not only makes those people feel special, but also those who watch/donate feel like they're apart of "building up" a celebrity's "status"
