Well I only smoke 1-2 cigs a day, and some days not at all. So even the ultra-lights can do the job for me.
I guess I would suggest smoking less, or switching to one of the regulars first (the blue/turquoise/cyan ones. Then work your way to the light and ultra-lights, if that is what you want.
To me a light Spirit (yellow) is as powerful as Marlboro Reds or Camel Blues. And the ultralight Spirits (orange) is as powerful as a light Marlboro/Camel.

Everyone is different. I am able to cold turkey when I want to. But I have also accept that it is a matter of "when" not "if" I will have another cig.
But I've known people who struggle to even cut back, let alone even consider cold turkey.
