Lost my drivers licence yesterday night after speeding through a redlight in the early morning hours with not another soul in sight, except a policevan with lasers and nothing better to do... Cops said it's suspended for 5 years atleast or I could appeal it in court. Had to call a friend to come drive me and the car back home...

Would appealing this even be worth a shot? I know I was in the wrong, but 5 fucking years?!

I'm obviously driving to work tomorrow, but what are the odds I'll get pulled over in the next few years? What are the consequences?

I think I've been pulled over just twice in the last 3 years for not wearing a seatbelt, so pretty "safe" driver.

I lost my license about 10 years ago due to a seat belt violation with my roommate (we got it at the same time and so I gave him the money to pay mine while he was paying his and instead of paying mine he bought a handle of rum and never told me) so once I moved to Kentucky from Indiana I drove on it without knowing my ticket was never paid off they decided to suspend my license after about 8 months (I was young and didn't give a fuck) so after living in KY for a year I decided to travel around finding work and driving like a normal person I haven't gotten in a accident or been caught speeding but that's just because fate has smiled upon me for the most part but saying that(or typing that) I must say if you're gonna drive with no license I must say right now ALWAYS make sure your car is in working order (no burned out bulbs on license plate turn signals working these are biggies!) If you have friends make sure that that have a license when they are in the car with you because if you do get pulled over you can feign innocence and say you didn't know because you have a new address and didn't get the mail telling you that it's suspended. I got pulled over on a night that it was snowing BAD and the only reason was my license plate light burned out on the way home from work and this cop pulled me over and I feigned innocent and said I had just paid like 600$ to get everything in order the day before and I was "told" that my state ID would suffice until I got the okay to get my new license the officer let me off with a warning and said to get it in order but honestly I could have lost my car and the random paraphernalia I had but instead I got to drive home and get high.

That being said please make sure before you drive you act like a paranoid person and check your everything and drive the limit and act like based God is watching you and you'll do fine. Please don't get caught user
