Found my dad's 5th gen fingerbox hidden under the floorboards.
What the hell is a fingerbox? im new here, came from /r/Yea Forums wtf is it, a box u put ur finger in?
This dood don't know what a finger box is lul
faggot shit thread
people have used the box as a type of prank, where in which people ask about the box and others pretend to know what it is and to have owned one since childhood. When someone asks what the box is, others in the thread mock the person who asked.
STFU and post cockmongler

Mad your dad didnt pass along a family fingerbox? It's an American tradition, user
imagine not knowing about fingerboxes
omega lul
good taste Ay O finger boxes are the shit
loved the one my dad passed me when i was 12
In that case, I have 4 of these imaginary toys that I'm looking at right now.
I'll defend you user. There's nothing more fun than multi fingerboxing with friends (or even strangers if they have some experience). Fuck off haters.
What a fucking dullard, fingerboxes are fucking real, did you just google it and fall into the anti-fingerbox movements trap?
What a fucking loser, go kys.
Explain to me how I found this out hiking one morning then?

He will never understand the gentle caress of hand-bored rosewood with an oiled finish
He’s just jelly because he was never given one
What's a fingerbox
Wow OP. You found a minibox with hand carving? You going to keep it or hand it in at your next ‘box club meeting in case the owner has reported it lost?
It's like sex but better. Fuckin newfag
These new- fangled digital Japanese made boxes are crap.
Call me old fashioned ,but it doesn't compare to the older hand made ones
I plan on keeping it. Not my fault someone lost something this valuable
Agreed. And what the fuck do you do if you’re at a meeting and the batteries fail?
You fell for the oldest trick in the book.
People like you wouldn't appreciate a good fingerbox anyway...
You’re probably right. It would have been insured
lol..thats true, you'll need to recharge it to get your finger out.
rolling for "i lick rape pussy" 77
I don't think I even need to note how dangerous that situation could be. Fuck digital boxes, the bugmen have no souls.
Oh shit dude....
It looks like a Briggs and Stratton 1880-1885 maybe.
That is one sweet box.
If its original it might be worth good money.
But maybe its a replica.
Post a picture of the bottom, any markings or engravings?
It may be a fake news rumour, but I heard that happened to a guy in Germany and he ended up in the emergency ward having it cut off. He had the box recut and refinished but he said it was never the same
Uh... what's a fingerbox?
Yikes !!!
Are you sure? I’m no expert on vintage boxes but I always thought the Briggs craftsmen used red enamel to highlight the side engraving, not silver
Hes right. I dunno what make this would be. One lucky bastard for finding it though
There was a period between 1880-1885 were
James Dorian McNabb worked for Briggs and Stratton as a master craftsman and he had a unique style that was different from the other engravers.
As you know he later left Briggs and Stratton to form the Rosewood Elite company, which specialises in silver enamel finishes.
So the archetypal silver engraving of a Rosewood Elite box came from McNabb? I didn’t realise that. Briggs must have been gutted when he left to go to the competition
Saw a JDM box in a museum years ago and was blown away by his use of edging- in 1880 no less! He was truly a master and WAY ahead of his time.
So user has one of the first prototypes from rosewood?
They were. After he left all Briggs craftsmen were forbidden to use silver in their hand carvings, which explains why any Briggs box claiming to be from after 1886 is definitely a forgery or has been refinished in a non-OEM workshop
Yes it did. McNabb would have stayed with them but they had a scuffle over salary and benefits.
Im sure they regretted it later.

this is what happened when i bought one of those fake chinese finger boxes
don’t skimp out on quality. you always get what you pay for
pic related: my finger has healed since
Tfw never got a fingerbox.
Sorry, I should have added
>any Briggs box claiming to be from after 1886 WITH SILVER FILIGREE is definitely.....
If its original,yes.
But these are like Stradivarius violins, rare and expensive if real.
But like the Stradivarius many boxes were just replicas and copies, good copies mind you,but still copies.
Its never too late
roll
Oh shit man..
That's why I stick to the older models
Exactly
Am I allowed to make my own?
Looks nasty. What happened? Left-over cutter fragment from a CNC operation?
You can. But I wouldn’t take it to any club meets.
Don't know if this is trolling or if I'm an arrogant finger box snob.
Fucking sheet steel?
Really WTF
Do what you want but it's not safe (or legal) at all to make your own. Leave it to an artisan, there's a reason illegal boxes are so frowned upon.
I guess you can,, but you really need to know woodworking ..it would be like you're trying to make a homemade violin.
And were would you get the plans?
Measurements?
Dimensions?
cromwell-intl.com
This site might help you out
It may have come from the inter-year wars when good wood was being diverted into rebuilding after WWI and there was a lot of scrap metal available
Maybe 3x3x3 with a 1 inch diameter hole
What about the mechanism inside?
You expect me to reveal everything from the start?
You foolish man.
It's not mine but I might inherit it.
An old man in Vietnam gave it to my father when he wanted him to marry his daughter.
Bamboo if I'm not mistaken.
Nice and simple.
You and every other faggot here.
It's sad that people who don't own a finger box will resort to this.
Just be happy for other people, don't see it as a status symbol to get jealous of and therefore need to deny.
There will always be someone who has more and better than you. Deal with it nicely please.
Heyyy...not fair...
I've been here since last summer.
That's real craftmanship, basic but heartfelt.
Did you really 'find' it or know you had to have it even if you prized it from someone's cold dead hands?
I'm an anesthatesist so when someone dies on the table after clinging to their fingerbox for comfort while we wheel em in, I've got less paperwork and organ trading to hold me up in the rush to procure it and sneak it home.
Some people might judge me for keeping this, but in my shoes, they'd have done the same.
Fuck that cheap crap. Save up your pennies and get a Straussman. The 3100 series is phenomenal.
There is always going to be something about the old school wooden or even ivory boxes, but the high end electronic ones are amazing.
Would insert finger.
Anybody here collect "irregulars?"
