Is life an emergent property of the laws of physics?
Is life an emergent property of the laws of physics?
Maybe. Hard to plot a decent curve from one data point.
At this point, I kind of hope not. It will make life's victory over this hellish universe all that much sweeter of revenge.
No. Physicality is an illusion created by your perception.
>an emergent property
That's a curious and strange term and answering this question requires understanding of it.
Please define exactly what you mean by that and I'll see what I can do
no but ur mom is
>Is physics an emergent property of the laws of god?
There is information floating around that would suggest it's possible
sciencemag.org
>Is God an emergent property of the thoughts of Man?
where does thought come from?
how high is the likelihood that life is a result of chemical evolution?
Well, in that case, seeing that we exist, the likelihood is 100%
>Are the thoughts of Man an emergent property of life?
Life as in matter that behaves in a way which we define as alive. I would love to understand the conditions under which evolution could begin
Philosophically, or naturally?
Thought is the only thing we can be sure exists. That nature exists is only something you can establish through observations that you can't ultimately trust.
Naturally, I would say that thought is an emergent property of nature.
Yes
>en.wikipedia.org
thanks bro this shit is fire
Dude I just wanted to let you know that this was funny AF!
therefore god exists, QED
God decides what lives and dies, you scientific heathen!
what if god just made a physics engine and this is a working build
Sorry, how does that follow?
Thoughts of man are an emerging property of life. Life is an emerging property of nature.
But you haven't proved that nature depends on God... God being a property of the thought of man is still very much a possibility. Ergo, no God.
He would have reset it by now.
What if God is a hyper advanced AI and life is a manifestation of what it is learning about the universe
>you haven't proved
1.Thoughts of man are an emerging property of life
2.Life is an emerging property of nature.
Ergo, no life.
From those two premises, it follows that without nature, no thought. It doesn't follow that there is no life. Do you even logic?
it kind of means neither exist
"Life" is a concept friendly for our minds, not so much reflecting atoms and chemicals. Nature doesn't have a mind. There is nothing in the laws of physics that demands life ought to exist.
god isnt real
>Nature doesn't have a mind
False.
>There is nothing in the laws of physics that demands life ought to exist.
Exactly. Yet it does.
Right. But we can imagine a scenario where everything else in the universe is identical to how it is now, except life never emerged. I don’t know if this is what OP is asking, but I think it’s interesting to consider if life is bound to emerge, given how everything else in the physical universe interacts over time. Are there bound (statistically) to be some planets the so called goldilocks zone? Is the distribution of chemicals in the right proportions and temperatures/states ultimately bound to eventually occur at least somewhere in the universe? Are these things inevitable? I don’t think anyone knows. Carl Sagan probably knew, but he ded. And Neil Degrasse Tyson is kind of a hack so he prolly don’t know either. But some rando Yea Forums peep prolly do! If u does, speak up homie!!!
