>be me >always wanted to be a good artist >draw but I'm fucking garbage compared to others and my friends >give up because I can't even finish one drawing >friends encourage me to eventually try again >same fucking thing happens
oh. uhh, id like to be encouraging but find a new hobby.
Matthew Smith
I've been drawing for almost a year and while I've improved from making barely coherent shit to actually somewhat coherent shit it still looks like it was made by an autistic 12 year old

>misunderstanding the definition of the word "practice"
you fucking clown
Kevin Gutierrez
user I'm not even mad at you pretending to be me I love this so much
Caleb Wilson
actually post ur art tho i wanna see. Cant believe i fell for the oldest trick in the book
Cameron Jenkins
Wait what is your dream exactly? Do you simply want to be good or do you want to make a job out of it? If it's the latter yeah you should probably give up but if you just wanna improve and do it for fun then keep at it. Progress will be slow but it will be made.
Lucas Hughes
It's a dream but it's not my #1 Big Dream or whatever. That's being a game dev. Luckily, I'm at least somewhat competent at that because it's a lot different from art and remebering lines of code and functions is easier than the concepts of shading and shit.
Jace Reed
>those numbers did you even try to learn about the fundamentals? buy the book "keys to drawing" and lurk in /ic/. But I bet you are in your boypussy complain mode so yes there is no hope for you. Bow before your master.
not op but im kinda shit at drawing id like advice or whatever lol just tell me how i can improve its a bit of a new hobby have been drawing for 1 or 2 months.
I would but i'd basically be doxxing myself because reverse image search is a thing lmao. Even then I've basically lost everything i've drawn because my old PC was destroyed in a flood and so did the art that was on it and the hard drives.
Owen Scott
OP here and lmao at least you're better than me and you draw on paper. I can't tolerate drawing on paper because I make a lot of mistakes and it feels like no matter how much I use an eraser, the mistake pencil marking is just visible enough to where it constantly fucking bothers me.
Hudson Reed
> "Keys to drawing" is a good start, it trains your eyes > /ic/ has some pdf threads with a lot of useful info >/ic/ sticky is importand too
also your art is shit
Jayden Jones
but how can i improve it :^)
John Gray
draw with less pressure. force yourself to draw higher on the pencil to make lighter lines.
Eli Price
this i believe it could've been something I would have enjoyed at one point, but at the same time, I have terrible communication skills and it's often times hard to hear/understand others. so basically, you're shot out of luck if you can't even hear the ATC regularly. on top of that, depression is not a nice factor to have in a job like that, and besides which, i also worried about potential job security.
other than that, i kinda have OPs own issue as well. i'm decently good at drawing itself, but I never actually put out anything I can call a finished product.
there are far better programmers out in the world than I ever will be, and like with art, I'm pretty sure 90% of it is just commission-based shit.
just kind of accepted that i'm a manual labor loser that won't hold any true meaning or value to the world.
Caleb Ortiz
pen and paper >no erasing there is no other way to get confident
apply yourself, take your time, draw and draw more it something that come with time, if you study art you should know every step you need, and if not you need to know them, just cheer up
