when i visited san francisco like a tourist from redwood city with some people, there was this one homeless guy who offered to sell hash but he really was homeless and pathetic. he seemed to think we liked him--even though we were all boring people that barely talked to him--and he tried to offer his loyalty that he would "kill any nigger". recently i've heard that a lot of the homeless there are from southern states. i couldn't imagine the whole "kill any nigger" line in 2000, but now it makes more sense.

And there's the homeless that were forced into becoming homeless and have no choice because no one gives them any helping hand.

In my home country there's a practice in the ghettos for the kids who marry to force their parents into giving them their homes by promising them they will help them till they die. The moment the papers are signed and they settle in their own parents house they kick their parents out to live in the streets.

To me there are 2 kinds of homeless...the down on their luck kind who just got fucked by life and the "drug addict" type who just dont care to improve themselves. The second group are generally the kind people associate with the word "homeless".

If I didn't have a decent family, go to a decent school so I could get a decent job, I'm sure I would have been no different. In a way, the homeless are a somber reflection of how life could have turned out for the rest of us. Is that to say that they are not worth anything? Absolutely not. Many successful people can recall a time where they sought an opportunity to get out of poverty. But not all are lucky. Far too often, the argument is between giving them handouts of leaving them in the dust, that no one ever suggested allowing them the opportunity to access their full potential.
