The flat earth model of nowadays has no basis in anything really, it just takes an outdated (and incorrect) idea that people pre-Columbus believed the earth was flat. Almost every idea, theory or explanation regarding the flat earth is very recent and was presented without evidence and then later worked backwards to explain some sort of phenomena about our planet. A lot of times the "problems with the globe model" presented by them have already been answered, as long as you research outside of YouTube quacks
