You voting for trump?
WinRAR hands down.
neither. linux master race checking in.
omg stfu
Nobody asked you but thanks for sharing that you use linux no one has ever done that before.
I have both installed. Fuck the police.
I always loved how 7zip lets you open any kind of file which appears to be a container, e.g. exes' embedded resources
7Zip, no "Hurr durr buy me" every time I open it
7zip has better performance and is better overall but i still use winrar because its the one that pops into your mind first when you install it on a new pc
Winrar always done me good and just look at those comfy bound books.
BTW use Ninite when you install stuff on a new PC.
ninite.com
Way easier and you don't have to try to remember every fucking type of program you need (and will avoid Winrar)
thanks i heard about this program after i just finished getting everything up on my new pc that program is a fucking time saver for sure user
shill
It's not a program, you just check the boxes and it gives you an all-in-one installer
samefag shills
program / website oh well it works is what im sayin
Not samefag. And that shit saved me so much fucking time I don't care about promoting it
My question is, has ANYONE ever had a .rar file/archive that WASN'T warez/tv/movie?
7.zip, winrar makes me mad as fuck that I have it on my computer. 7.zip is so nice. I need to install that.
7 zip is open source
Backup files for transfer
Linux is not a compression tool. Are you talking about tar, gzip, bzip2, lzma? Generally what the fuck are you talking about?
7zip. Always one of my first softwares after I reinstall.
I didn't know we had a choice?
Hes saying that windows is shit.
Windows 10 Pro comes with it's own .zip program so I installed neither of them :^)
.tar isn't compressed kiddo
It's still for archiving
checked
whatever compression software is actually built into the file manager so I don't have to download some shit trialware to deal with archives
7zip is one of the first things I install after a fresh installation of windows. That and vlc, chrome, etc.
roll
peazip is master race!
7zip for the right click > sha256 of any file
Winrar for the right click > extract to folder
Winzip, rip

Cool, you can't afford 30 bucks and or you don't know how to pirate software.
Now answer the question, which software is better?
You can still use p7zip on GNU/Linux... I use it all the time for rars... and zips...
7zip is objectively better but the layout and UI of WinRAR is familiar to me I refuse to use 7zip
Haven't used winrar in a long ass time, so 7 zip
Winrar
