Depends which area of life you’re talking about? The 90’s to now covers a lot of different shit, literally everything from the 90’s till now.
If you’re talking about TV it’s because programming changed, things like YouTube became popular for music videos, executives noticed reality TV gets tons of viewers (mainly bc women watch more tv during the day), history channel didn’t start running ancient aliens 24/7 because they thought it was educational but bc it gets views. Culture changed.

I loved mtv back when you had to call up and pay for it, as it was a new channel dedicated to music that wasn’t opera on A&E which used to stand for arts and entertainment.
Headbangers Ball, Beavis and Butthead, MTV Unplugged and other music shows were the shit. Even news 1515 was good. As soon as they cancelled headbangers ball and TRL came out, I knew it was destined to feed radio pop garbage. Now I hear there isn’t even any music on it anymore.

Headbangers ball was a refuge from seeing poison white snake and all those other hair bands. News was where you learned your favorite artist was dead/in jail/arrested or had committed suicide.
