I’m sorry OP. That’s really sad. You don’t have to change your major. I say follow your heart and do what you love, no matter what anyone says. You’ll do great. I believe in you.
Kek you thought you were going to be able to get a job as a straight white male in the united states?
Good luck with that.
so sorry m8 keep trying tho I had to change careers too I know the feeling.
People like you sir are the reason I still go on.
Never change OP.
Consider going into Chemistry or better yet Chemical Engineering. High schools that have High School Bacheloriate or other STEM programs are required to have chemistry teachers with actual chemistry degrees. There is a huge shortage of qualified teachers available. Not only will you be able to teach (high school) but you'll be one of the highest paid teachers due to your qualifications.
if you found your true interest fucking take it guy. I thought I was going to be a military career fag but after being semi bilingual I found out I want to teach as well. Once my contract ends imma do that. Teach overseas. I liked talking to foreigners and teaching them English and also like to teach English people my second language. I think that's the universe showing you what you should really do. Fuck them hoes

You made the right choice user
Wholesome! I hope your future endeavours go smoothly, OP if this is Original Content.
I don't understand. I know that male teachers are less common but they are far from missing. I went to like 10 schools in 5 years and we had plenty of male teachers.
I'm almost positive I had at very least one male teacher every year of school.
I'm currently in the south. The school I applied to TA was from 5k to fourth grade. The entire staff was female. So was most of my class of TAs.
If the dogma wasn't so harsh here, I would listen to the Yea Forumsros here and do it
Well you could do it, the worst you'd get is some snarky comments from bitches, which will happen anywhere. Also you can just move? I don't know a single person who grew up never seeing a male teacher in elementary school, again I went to 10 of them from puerto rico to oregon to california to florida... they all had males.
was meant for:
Exactly. I don't understand why OP is acting like this is the end of the line.
kys u whiny baby

Made up. Males probably make up a good 10%+ of the teacher workforce.
>you're a guy you can't teach
literally no one has ever said this
I was at college with a part-time job 'interpreting' a science exhibit to classes etc. Thought it would be good to take "Teaching Science in Elementary School" and the complementary math class as long as I was there at uni anbyway. I was the only male in both classes. Three was some life among the native in the science class, but the math class was being taught to cattle. Emotionless, silent, couldn't tell what they were thinking (if anything) by looking at their faces. It was just weird. Really weird. I couldn't help but lament for the kids they were going to 'teach.'
I wish this was meritless. It isn't. Male white straight teacher == easily destroyed by one accusation no matter how obviously fictional.
I don't need to cry, I'm a protected class.
Enjoy becoming a minority.
